MLB Talk - 2010 Season

My god, that no-no looked effortless. I think that game could have gone 12 innings and the Reds still wouldn't have a hit.

Great start for the Phils and Roy!

Wow, that NYY/MIN game was a nailbiter. I was all set to complain about the call that the umps made, which was clearly bad (Golson caught that ball, and everyone could see it) but then the Yanks won anyway. :)

Love that line that the broadcasters had about all the broken bats - "Put another log on the fire".

It was fun to watch Halladay throw the no hitter. He made it look almost effortless.

As for the Twins/Yankees game: Crap. Couldn't even win with an extra out (what's-his-name definitely caught that ball). I probably shouldn't second guess Gardenhire, but why put in Jesse Crain when you have three pitchers (Rausch, Fuentes and Capps) that pitch well enough to be closers?

Probably because Garza had a pretty shitty September, with an ERA of nearly 6 for the month.

Ouch, manager of the twins just got ejected

And the Pettitie/Jeter/Posada/Mo combination comes through again :D

Yeah! Giants win Game 1, Timmy gets a complete game 2-hit shutout with 14 strikeouts, breaking the franchise record for playoff K's!

^On one hand, I loved what Lincecum did and the Giants won, but on another, I feel a little dirty. I'm an advocate of instant replay, as I believe the "human element" is just an excuse for incompetence, and when they were showing the highlights of the steal, I was thinking Posey was out. Heck, that was way before the guys at TBS even talked about it. Kind of surprised there was little arguing, especially from Cox who has made a habit of being kicked out of games in his coaching career. Hopefully the Giants take game 2 and have a 2 game advantage. Really do hate that these playoffs have been plagued by the same thing that plagued it last year.

Three run homer from Pat The Bat Burrell! And not 5 seconds before the crack of the bat, who was chanting for a 3-runner? Yeah, that'd be me.
