Marlins fans feel free to weigh in on this: Was Hanley Ramirez simply being a jackass, or what? Didn't he deserve to get benched from that game?

And...Back-to-back home runs for Mets! Ike Davis and Jeff Francoeur!!! :techman:

Will the Giants go 0-18 against the Padres or will they actually win one. Hopefully it's the latter, but it really does seem that whenever they play San Diego, the team's offense is worse than usual.

Ah, nothing better then the look of Mariano Rivera being the losing pitcher in a game.

Thanks Hermida!

Which is pretty unfair since it was Joba's epic fail inning that created that mess :(

Interestingly enough, the Yankees are protesting the win last night over issues involving the Red Sox pulling Beckett. Not really sure what the details are though or what's the point behind it

I'm not a Marlins fan, but Ramirez is a jackass. Is he auditioning to be the next Milton Bradley? Although I can't remember Bradley going after his fellow teammates like Ramirez did.

Will this finally be the time where asinine behavior outweighs playing ability and Ramirez gets dumped?

It looks like Hanley apologized. Well good for him. Now he can shut the fuck up and start hustling to the ball again. Fredi Gonzalez had every right to be pissed. (Love that one thing he said - "they can't all be Derek Jeter" :guffaw: )

Interleague play starts tonight with the Battle of the Bay. I've really become soured on the whole Interleague play thing of the last few years, but it's not going away. Might as well suck it up and enjoy it. Besides, it's the weekend, and it's Baseball. That's always a fun thing.

I'd actually like to see more interleague play. There are teams in both leagues, there are teams on the cusp that could be more competitive in their divisions if they weren't playing stronger divisional opponents constantly. An example of this is the Jays and Rays, both having to live in the shadow of the Yankees and Red Sox.

I don't get to enjoy interleague play today. Oh well... Braves have some good AL Central games + the Rays coming up later this year.

I don't mind interleague play, but the novelty has kind of worn off and I don't think they need to schedule as many games as they do. I also wish they'd mix things around a bit. I can see the appeal of the "Battle of the Bay", the "Subway Series" and other regional matchups, but it would be nice to see some teams you don't get a chance to watch. As a Twins fan, I'm getting a little tired of always having them face the Brewers. Despite that, I will be going to the Twins/Brewers game on Sunday.

I would also like to see some less common matchups. I think Yankees/Padrees would be cool. Have they even faced each other since the 1999 World Series?
