Steve Cohen has a lot more money than common sense.

This is a very strange trade. Varsho's a slap hitter who strikes out a ton and has a little speed, and has some versatility because he can play both outfield and catch. But the Blue Jays gave up a lot, including a top-5 prospect in all of baseball.

Several guys have said they wanted to play for a team that was going to have a consistent roster for several years. We certainly have that now. It's quite the change from a team who would regularly bring in ancient pitchers and outfielders every year.
Per The Athletic, the Mets and Carlos Correa still remain far apart in their disagreement over his medicals. The Mets are reportedly pushing for large provisions pertaining to playing time / time spent on the injured list, while Correa's camp is holding firm on a fully guaranteed deal. There's still a large possibility that the two sides walk away, and reportedly multiple teams--including the Twins--are ready to swoop in if Correa is willing to accept a shorter deal with a higher annual average value.
