Royals owner says the team will leave Kauffman Stadium and is exploring locations for a $2 billion stadium and entertainment district near or around downtown. Lease ends in 2031 but they're hoping to move before then.

Always get your blackmail threats out early, we have two ballparks from the last one and now the Browns--no not them--are threatening a new one/relocation they are ga-zillionaires and need the taxi-payers to pony up.

I guess Berlin is lookin' good to them now. ;)

I guess the Chiefs wouldn't exactly mind having that huge-ass parking lot to themselves...

If memory serves, the Truman Sports Complex has the same issue that Baltimore does with Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium, in that the two stadiums share utility infrastructure, most notably plumbing, and as a result they cannot hold games simultaneously.

"Please everybody, don't flush at once!" Do they end up with a sewage problem, like Oakland if they do?

Blue Jays trade Teoscar Hernandez to the rival Mariners for a strong bullpen arm and a prospect.

It seemed doubtful that the team was going to re-sign him with contracts for Guerrero & Bichette, but the return seems so little for an above average hitter. Is Swanson going to be a lights out bullpen arm? And who are the Blue Jays going to run out as a third outfielder considering they also DFAed Tapia and Zimmer?

Newcomers on the HOF ballot:

Carlos Beltran, John Lackey, Jered Weaver, R.A. Dickey, Huston Street, Francisco Rodríguez, Bronson Arroyo, Matt Cain, Jacoby Ellsbury, Jayson Werth, Mike Napoli, J.J. Hardy, Jhonny Peralta and Andre Ethier.

Only one is a hall of famer, but how will a non-steroid cheating scandal play into it?

Miguel Cabrera has said that 2023 will be his final season. I thought 2022 was?

No? He's always said he intended to play out the full length of the contract that Mike Ilitch signed him to back in like 2014. He was saying a year ago that 2023 would be his final season.

What is Don Mattingly doing? I thought he had a guaranteed FO job with the Marlins.

I believe when he announced that he wasn't returning in 2023, it meant he and the Marlins were severing ties completely. Anyway, this is him taking a demotion for a while until yet another team decides to give him a chance at managing.

In other news, Disney has completed its purchase of BAMTech (MLB still held 15 percent of it; Disney paid $900 million to acquire that last bit), so when your favorite team starts crying poor this winter, just remember that they got $30 million for free this month.

Perry's 1974 autobiography was titled "Me and the Spitter," and he wrote it in that when he started in 1962 he was the "11th man on an 11-man pitching staff" for the Giants. He needed an edge and learned the spitball from San Francisco teammate Bob Shaw.

Perry said he first threw it in May 1964 against the New York Mets, pitched 10 innings without giving up a run and soon after entered the Giants' starting rotation.

He also wrote in the book that he chewed slippery elm bark to build up his saliva, and eventually stopped throwing the pitch in 1968 after MLB ruled pitchers could no longer touch their fingers to their mouths before touching the baseball.
Always with the rules
