There's always the Steelers. I was in the 7th grade the last time they had a winning season, I'm now 32.
Ben Sheets just pitched his last major league inning. 94 wins, 1,325 KOs. 4x All-Star. Seems like a really cool guy and I enjoyed watching him pitch in his brief stint in Atlanta.
I unfortunately have to work tonight but I can listen to it on the Radio. Should be an amazing game and if the A's can pull it off, wouldn't that basically give Bob Melvin Manager of the Year. Pity there can't be co-managers of the year because Showalter deserves it too.
I could live with either of those two winning Manager of the Year for AL. I'm thinking it has to be Davy Johnson for the NL.
What an amazing run the A's are on, but it seemed like when Hamilton dropped the ball (and seeing the highlight it looked like he wasn't trying to catch it, which considering this is a game for the division, seemed way out of character for him) the Rangers just waved the white flag and surrendered. The floodgates were open and the A's took advantage beautifully. I don't think anyone wants to play the A's right now, as they are the hottest team in baseball.
^ Really? After 1) the crappy season the Red Sox have had, and 2) Bobby V throwing all the coaches under the bus in his radio interview, why would they keep him?
If they were planning on firing him, all the players that were traded would still be here and Valentine would have been gone already.
Yeah... he an Ozzie are going to be yelling tirades at the TV during the 2013 season. Edit: Valentine fired
Why did you expect them to keep him after completely alienating the owner, general manager, coaching staff, players, fans, and media? That was a disaster from the day his name was mentioned.
