And the Braves win #6, but Jo Jo Reyes goes out with a blister on his finger and Buddy Carlyle manages to be involved in a collision furthering my made up Braves pitching curse.

Today would have been so nice for an A's game. They've been a big surprise this year and I can't wait till they play. They're fun to watch and unfortunately they had an off day today.
Seattle was in a pissed off mood tonight. Sexon didn't even get hit and he charges the mound.
I heard about that. Good thing I had him on the bench for the fantasy team. I ended up dropping him for another young prospect pitcher which might a good gain.
I saw the highlights and that pitch was way over his head. That was a stupid move throwing his helmet at Gabbard like that. But that's ok, we took 3 out of 4 from them and two were shut outs.

Despite the win-loss record, I still think there are a few AL teams that are better, but not by much.
And WTF was with Richie Sexson, has he got a stick up his ass or what? Yes two Rangers were hit, so a little retaliation was in order, but that ball was 2 feet from his head down the middle of the plate. Talk about looking for a reason to fight.
I like how Milton Bradley picked up Gerald Laird and carried him away.
You may well be right. I suppose the end of seasn win/loss record will tell the tale.
Have you seen how big he is? His strike zone takes up most of the state of Texas! Why the hell would anyone want to think about trying to make him mad?

However, Yahoo does mention that Webb is the first person to be 8-0 since Jon Garland did it with the White Sox in 1995 and the first person to do it in the National League since 1997. I don't remember who since that information has already been removed from the scouting report. I think it was Pedro Martinez, but I couldn't swear to it.

Arizona has a pretty good pitching staff overall, but Webb's definitely the gem of the bunch.
Yeah...hopefully Tito will come to his senses. If not, we can keep giving Lugo concussions.
Dice-K has been a little shaky this year, but he's made big strides over last season.
Yes he has. He still walks WAY WAY WAY too many, but it seems now when he gets into trouble, be does not panic, and still tries to make good pitches. And he is finally using his fastball as his dominant pitch. He as a good 91-94 MPH fastball, and it seemed last year he was afraid to use it. Now, he is using it to get ahead in the count, and pitch deeper into games.
And I like Lugo, I do...but it is frusterating to see him out there every night screwing something up, especially when we have Lowrie, who seems to have proven (in a limited sampling) that he can hit MLB pitching, and play a solid SS. It would also be cool, minus Lowell, to have an entirely home grown infield ( and I include Varitek, because he was still a prospect when he came to the Sox, and he is what he is today because of the Sox organization).

Its so wierd to see Ken Griffey Jr as an old outfielder with no range. I know everybody gets old but its still wierd to see Griffey play nowadays since he was the best player in the league back in the 90s. I guess Willie Mays fans felt like that once he came back to NY in the twilight of his career.
That aside, my streaky NY Metropolitians are on a hot streak and Carlos Beltran is on a role. Hopefully nobody throws him a curveball so he can stay on his tear as I got tickets to next sundays game at Yankee Stadium. Los Mets won the first subway series game so we might as well win the last one at the Stadium. A hot Beltran will beast over at the stadium especially when he bats lefty and according to projections we have Big Game Maine pitching against Wang sunday. Thats gonna be a great game and while it sucks to miss Santana, Big Game Maine is always a pleasure to watch especially when hes on.
Oh before I forget. "The best team in the NL" is 3 and 7 in their last 10. Lost 2 outta 3 to Los Mets and just got swept by the Cubbies. Time for them to lose to the Rockies and Tigers. In case anybody cares, I say when the Mets are on they are "The best team in the NL" but I`m just a tad biased. My alt pick for best team is the Padres cause I love their pitching and pitching always makes you a contender.
