No argument here. Then again, since a team mascot is really only for the kids anyway, isn't that a GOOD thing? Be thankful I didn't try and defend the super-lame "lefty and righty" secondary mascots. Yeah, they're socks. So, you just finished a rant about how Wally the Green Monster sucks, but then ended it by saying you didn't know what he looks like?
I can't upload a pic, but there's a link to a pic of him here from the Red Sox page:
http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/bos/community/wally.jsp
Not his best pic, but basically just a big green guy with orange hair, wearing a Sox uniform. And the Phanatic sucks, just like his team...
No offense, but he looks like a Sesame Street character who's a little green in the gills: Too much fun juice the night before, I guess.
Haven't checked into this thread for a while. Probably has something to do with the Jays recent dismal stretch of 3-11...
Now, however, they've swept the White Sox and are on a five-game winning streak. Go figure.
You don't have to put "the best team in the NL in quotes", they ARE the best team in the NL, from pitching staff, to lineup, to bullpen, the are the most complete and balanced team, and the scary part is for the most part...they are young.
And I hate the Idea of a manager only being part of success because of the players he had. I'm sorry, if you are gonna blame a manager for loosing, you also have to blame him for winning, because you can't play one side of the card. I'm not saying Torre is the best manager, but damn, the guy won 4 World Series, and had been to the postseason for 12 straight years. He had SOMETHING to do with it, cause if Dusty Baker was managing the Yankees for that time, I dont think the success rate would be nearly as high.
Now I don't watch the Mets nearly enough to give a commentary on Randolph, and I don't know the decisions that make him a bum.
I hate Julio Lugo. I swear the guy turns playing shortstop into a fucking adventure everytime there is a ball hit to him.
He turned what would have been a great come from behind victory, to a shit-fest cause he can't get an out on a routine ground ball.
I hate that shit, he is Renteria all over again

Yeah. Lugo is good for precisely two things: (1) ground out double plays and (2) throwing errors. He's a weak link. It's time to get rid of him.

And with Lowrie in the wings, get rid of him quickly. Even if Lowrie has the same amount of errors, i would forgive him, cause he is a rookie. But Lugo should know better. I mean errors happen I know, but WTF its like every play. Ten errors one month into the season...10! Hell with that.
Now that the Dodger series is over and Big Game Maine gave us exactly what we needed, I just wanted to write and say how much of a pleasure it is to listen to Vin Scully do his thing. I hope he never retires.
Hmmm...sounds like I traded him just in time.Did anyone else watch that collision in the top of the 8th of the Phils-Dbacks game? Ouch. That one hurt. Looks like it knocked Jackson out for a while. He was flat on his face on top of the bag for a good ten minutes.
