MLB Chatter 2008

Phillies seem to be off to their customary slow April start.

It MUST be spring!

But you lost to the Nats...there is no excuse. ;)

I must say, I'm surprised that the Nat's haven't screwed the season up already. I guess Cordero being out has helped.

Chief my ass.

The Giants won a game last night. Who knew.

Maybe that's how Matt Cain can get a win. On the night he starts, don't bring him in until the 4th inning, and then he can pitch the rest. Reverse Psychology might actually help the Giants in the long run. :D

One awesome play by Jimmy Rollins, followed by two intentional walks and a walk that might as well have been intentional. Not the greatest win in the world, but I'll take it.

This is kind of weird - a hawk attacked Alexa Rodriguez in Fenway park. Tried to steal the top of her head or something. :wtf:

Wow

Everything about that story is amusing except that a 13-year old girl was attacked. Nice coincidence, though.

So, I think it's official Mike Hampton's pitching career with the Braves is done now. He's nothing but a salary waster.

One hell of a series between the Jays and Yanks to open the season, I have to say...

3-2 NY
5-2 TOR
3-2 NY

Intense!

Game of the week tonight on FOX is Braves (1-3) vs. Mets (2-1) if anyone is interested.

Do you mean Fox? I don't remember ESPN doing any games on Saturday. Also, it's regional, so on the west it's Dodgers vs. Padres. Penny vs. Peavy, that should be a fun match-up.

What I hate is the stupid blackout rules that apply to games played at the same time as the Fox game of the week. Utterly ridiculous.

Yeah. C.C Sabathia was coming back to Oakland today for his only visit to the Bay Area (Unless the Giants play Cleveland in SF) and that game wasn't on TV. That really sucked.

Today watching the Phillies with my roomate, who is a phillies fan, I had to laugh hysterically when ever I saw Dusty Baker standing in the Reds dugout. God help them.

Then to top it off, I had to sit and watch the Tim McCarver post game show, where he was interviewing Joe Morgan. So pretty much the two worst commentators ever, in the same room. I wish I had had a nuke.

Does that mean you're not picking up Tim McCarver's "Diamond Gems" book this week?
