MLB Chatter 2008

Hell, Phillies fans hate Phillies fans. You gotta hand it to 'em. They're equal opportunity haters. They hate everything and everybody. Even winning ticks 'em off. It prevents them from bitching about how much their team sucks, so they hate that, too. It's crazy!

See? REALLY under the radar!

Yeah, they have actual fans. You can see some of them at games in Tampa every so often. Though they are sometimes confused and think they're still rooting for the Tampa Yankees.

Hence why I employed sarcasm to my post. :p

Yes, they're very crazy.

As a Red Sox fan living in the land of Philadelphia, truer words have never been spoken. Atleast Phillies fans, however, have never been arrogant, since they never win.

Nice of the Jays to get that early sweep of the Just As Evil Empire.
Just a minor nit, but the Red Sox have actually slipped down the rankings a bit, and are only the 4th highest payroll this year. The Yankees are obviously still first, but the Tigers and the Mets both managed to outspend Boston this year, which actually SHRANK payroll by about 12 million or so.

Oh, I'm aware of this, but I still hate Boston almost as much as New York. I used to not-mind them, but ever since winning the WS in 2004, I've found the fans (speaking in a general sense) have become pretty insufferable. In fact, I've actually found them to be worse than Yankees fans of late.

Well if the Blue Jays ever win again, I will see if the same happens to their fans...when I find some.;)

Heh, you'd be surprised how many of us there are. :p

After all, the Jays averaged 29,000 fans per game last year, which is a lot better than a lot of teams do. Toronto was also the first franchise to break the 4,000,000 mark for regular-season attendance, I should add. ;)

The Blue Jays have fans? When did this happen?

coaster, you can actually hate Cubs fans? My god, you're mean. :p

Well there was some unconfirmed reports of Blue Jays fans back in the early nineties. However, the reports have diminished since that time. I do believe their was some video evidence though.

There must be some Blue Jays fans considering their team didn't move from Canada to the US. ;)

Not sure you can just count gate attendance as having fans. How do the numbers vary when the Yankees or Red Sox aren't in town? Count THOSE numbers as your 'fans'. I know a lot of people that make the drive/flight to Toronto just because the seats are cheap and never sold out, so it's cheaper and easier than trying to see the Yankees or Red Sox at home.

Kinda like how the Orioles get more Red Sox fans in the stadium than O's fans when they play. Fenway South, and all that...

No, I don't hate the Cubs or their fans. I actually like the Cubs quite a bit. I've probably seen more games in Wrigley than anywhere else outside of Baltimore, Miami, Atlanta, and Seattle.

Scout is right on about the traveling fans. Red Sox - Orioles in Baltimore is usually sold out. Not because Baltimore has such dedicated fans, but because it's either cheaper or easier to get tickets for road games than home games at Fenway. It's quite funny to see Camden Yards become home field for the Sox and the annoyed Orioles fans in such a minority.

Only thing that sucks is that even some of the Red Sox road games have become a bit tougher a ticket. I have to plan those games out a bit more than I once did. If the Orioles ever got good again, it would be a much tougher ticket still.

Is it my imagination or did the D'Backs SOUNDLY crush the Rockies in Colorado for Colorado's home opening series?

Why, I do believe it actually happened! :)

Okay... Atlanta better be on the lookout for some better relievers because these guys just aren't cutting it.

Bastards ruined a perfectly good outing for Tom Glavine (and took a win decision away from him).
