MLB 2025: The A's are Playing Where Now?

Munetaka Murakami has posted. He's only 25. In 2022 he hit 56 home runs. Do the Dodgers need a third baseman? He can also play first.

Cleveland pitchers Luis Ortiz and Emmanuel Clase have been indicted by the Department of Justice, charged with sports betting and money laundering conspiracy.

Watch this 45 second FanDuel commercial before I give you more details.

Between this and the NBA betting scandal and the whole mess with Ohtani's interpreter last year, you have to wonder when the breaking point comes and the professional sports leagues realize that getting in bed with the gamblers was a huge fucking mistake.

Like on a scale of mistakes from 1-100, with 1 being me deciding to have Taco Bell last night, 50 being Ford's decision to create the Edsel, and 100 being the Munich Agreement, I'd rate this as a solid 65 or 70.

An Astros pitcher received death threats after a game in May because he caused a gambler to lose.

There is a nationwide TV ad telling gamblers not to take it out on the players.

A player or coach is going to get killed over a gambling loss.

Also, came across this YouTube video and thought it was funny for unintentional reasons:

I have a feeling that gambling will end up destroying at least one of the major sports leagues.

NBA seems to be the favorite right now. Wonder if I can get odds on DraftKings?!

Easiest sport for officials to rig is basketball. It's easy to get rid of star players and card for penalty kicks in soccer, but a referee can't make them score. And one team getting a half dozen penalty kicks would be extremely suspicious.

Pirates GM says he's not trading Skenes this offseason. Of course, he eventually will have to be traded because they'll never pay him and he's going to walk. Even if they somehow went nuts and paid him the market rate, they won't be paying anyone else their market rate so he'd still be stuck on a sinking ship.

Until they get an owner who's as interested in playoff contention as he is in the team being a profit center, the Pirates will continue to be everybody else's farm team.

NBC is announcing a new sports channel called NBC Sports Network, same as the network they killed in 2021. It will be on YouTube first, then Xfinity (which NBC owns), then elsewhere. MLB, NBA, WNBA, Notre Dame football, Premier League, Kentucky Derby and more. I assume all this will be available on Peacock, but not everything on Peacock will be shared with NBC Sports.

Baseball's offseason is frustrating. I would have thought there would be some signings by now but I guess they wait until the Winter Meetings to get that started. There's even more uncertainty because of the lockout after next season (Likely lockout).
