^ SO glad they didn't go that route.

I mean, what the hell were they thinking? "Gee, we'd like to play in TWO shitty stadiums rather than just one"?

If memory serves, one of Stuart Sternberg's business analysts told him that Montreal was baseball-starved and could easily support 41 games and almost all of them would be sellouts. And, as with anything involving Sternberg, he was just trying to pad his already-loaded wallet, because having a net worth of a billion dollars isn't enough for him. Same with all the bullshit John Fisher has been pulling in Oakland and with Las Vegas; he's worth $3 billion and change because he inherited The Gap from his parents.

BatBros did another comparison of high school, NCAA and Major League baseballs. Turns out there's some real fuckery going on with MLB's balls.

The MLBPA should be throwing the mother of all shitfits over this. A three percent variation in diameter is unacceptable.

It's got to suck being the offspring of a legend on a team with two other offsprings of legends and they're superstars while you're terrible. Blue Jays DFA Cavan Biggio.

Apparently Rob Thomson wasn't too happy with Bryce Harper doing that "soccer slide". The broadcasters said that the Phillies coaches were fairly upset at Harper for that.

(with a turf surface that bouncy, a slide like this isn't too friendly on the knees)

Edit: Pete Alonso is a Chelsea fan! Linky

The British call of the ending to the London Series.

I don't know which is stranger....hearing a British announcer call a baseball game, or Americans commentating on Premier League matches (which I have also heard, since I'm a Liverpool fan).

I mean, it's COOL of course. But still kinda weird

I think one MLB team has an Australian or British announcer.

I will never understand why they cut him over Turner or Vogelbach.

Cavan Biggio has gone from worst to first and is now a Dodger. They traded a random pitcher for him. He joins a bench full of underperforming utility players and they're hoping someone among them turns it around.

Ryan Rowland-Smith, Mariners, is Australian. Wiki says he does TV pre- and postgame shows, and does the radio broadcast.

If that's the guy I remember, he did some TV broadcasts as well.

Yeah, he co-anchors the Mariners broadcast. It's an interesting set-up, Rick Rizz and Ryan Rowland Smith alternate radio/tv commentary.
Rick and Ryan will call one inning on the radio, then the next on ROOT Sports, then back to the radio.
I've gotten so used to his voice that I don't even notice the accent anymore.
We've also had an Englishman and a Scottsman calling the Sounders Football games, so I'm used to hearing that as well.
