Cavan Biggio has gone from worst to first and is now a Dodger. They traded a random pitcher for him. He joins a bench full of underperforming utility players and they're hoping someone among them turns it around.
Toronto is the definition of mediocre right now, to the point where I haven't watched a full game yet this season. For a corporation that rakes in billions as owners, this team is always cheap. Need a GM and a presidentt? Pick the Cleveland guys who have managed to maintain the mediocrity there forever and a day. Need a manager? Pick not one, but two minor league managers in a row (Montoyo & Schneider) that seem perfectly fine obeying analytics to set their lineups and are befuddled when it doesn't work. Need to surround your young core with competent veterans? Sign IKF, Turner, Vogelbach and the shadow of Joey Votto.
Biggio was never going to be a superstar hitter like the other two famous father kids in Vlad and Bo, but I doubt this coaching staff has any idea how to help him. Ross Atkins then got a AA pitcher with an injury history for him. Even though they would have gotten nothing for him if he walked, he still managed to scrape the bottom of the barrel.
