MLB 2022 Season: Houston Warship: Go Phuck Yourselves

It really sucks that we’re going to lose Ohtani. I think Moreno will open his checkbook (he always does) but Ohtani wants to play for a winner.

If/when he leaves, there’s going to be a lot of broken hearts in Anaheim.

:(

I think that Rendon contract is going to be a blocker when it comes to re-signing Ohtani.

Goddamn my Beloved Angels suck ass this year. Even worse than usual.

Team batting average of .230

:wah:

How long until they fire the interim manager? Phil Nevin seems utterly clueless (and I've had a negative opinion of him ever since he instigated that huge brawl).

Nationals open to trading Juan Soto after he rejects 15 year/$440 million dollar deal with no deferrals.

This feels like a story that was planted to Rosenthal by the Nationals, a lot of the pieces don't add up. Number one, the lack of deferrals, which is a complete break in Washington's SOP. Beyond that, he's still got two more years of service time before he hits free agency. Why rush to trade him now, when teams will still probably trip over themselves to sell the farm for one and a half years of him next season? Hell, he'd still probably net a top-20 prospect type just as a rental to a competing team.

The Nats have seemed in a really weird rush to figure out the Soto thing as if he were hitting free agency this offseason and, like, they've got until 2025 to figure this shit out.

Edit: Also, I can't imagine the trade market is going to be there for him. Washington will need to find a trade partner that a) is competitive now or at least planning to be competitive before 2025, b) has a top tier farm system with multiple Top-20ish guys to headline and c) is willing to gut that system to get Soto. The Nationals are probably going to ask for at least two MLB-ready players and two top-20 prospects, and they might try to get someone to eat one of their bad money contracts in Corbin or Strasburg, too. Looking at the pipelines, that leaves ... Boston, the Padres, Dodgers, Giants, Yankees? The Mets might meet those criteria but no way does Washington trade Soto within the division.

Because the Nats used to be in the American League.

"First in War, First in Peace,

And Last in the American League."

The Nats are gonna nat, just like the Reds and other po-dunk head up their asses organizations.

Why the Washington Nationals Were Once Known as the Senators

Blue Jays fire Charlie Montoyo.

The biggest scapegoat in Blue Jays history. He was always going to be Rick Renteria for this team, but I didn't think they were going to cut him midseason. They must have been reading the comments on Sportsnet.ca

THE Answer is always to fire the manager, the Front Office always stays warm and comfy. Kinda like Nixon and other recent deplorables, if ya' know what I mean.

Chris Sale is eternally snakebitten. Second start after spending three months on the IL, and he's headed right back after Aaron Hicks hits a 106mph single off his pitching hand. Pretty unfortunate.

Damn, that's some terrible luck. :(

Jackson Holliday, son of Matt Holliday, went No. 1 in the 2022 MLB draft.

Druw Jones, son of Andruw Jones, went No. 2.

Elijah Green, son of Eric Green (10-year NFL tight end and two-time Pro Bowler), went No. 5.

Justin Crawford, son of Carl Crawford, went No. 17.

Rob Manfred: "I reject the premise that minor leaguers aren't paid a living wage." Well, I guess the players are alive, so that's what matters, right?

I'm gonna try that approach with my landlord. "I reject the premise that I owe you rent on the 1st of every month."

The Astros booked a charter flight for the players and manager going to the All-Star Game. Then they invited lone A's all-star representative Paul Blackburn to join them after finding out the A's were sending him to the All-Star Game on commercial.

Good for them, class move.
