So we're only about a week and a half away from the 20th anniversary of TrekBBS! Since this contest will be the one running during the anniversary (in the voting phase, presumably), what better time to commemorate the anniversary in avatar contest form?
Our theme this week is Party Like It's 1999! Your entry can be anything from around that time: what you were doing, stories in the news, favourite products from around that time, whatever! (If you're too young to remember 1999, there's always Google!
)
The rules are pretty simple: images should be a maximum of 200 x 200 pixels, a maximum of 1 MB if animated, and no media sources (news sources are OK if you're doing something from the news). Contest will be open for about a week; I plan to post the poll next Sunday.
To start us off: one of my main memories of 1999 is being fairly new in the workforce, and our whole department had to review tonnes of old programs to correct the Y2K issue. Fun! (Oh well, I never really was a party girl anyway...
)
(OK, I cheated a little on the language used, but I wanted something animated!
)
So let's all step into the Wayback Machine, and see those memories from 20 years ago! Have fun!
