Misc Avatar Contest: Best/Worst Present

Saga

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
the theme for this contest is Best/Worst Present. what was the best present you received? the worst? show us!

standard contest rules apply. good luck!

So...do you want one or the other, or both? I don't have a "best present ever," but I do have a worst.
One year, my mother-in-law picked up some used wrapping paper, tore off a piece and wrote, "I O U one present," and handed to me. Feel the love.

OK, I'll stick with my IOU, then. Far and away the biggest "Fuck You" gift I've ever received. ER...or not received, as the case may be.

This was the best present I ever received:

Christmas 1993

That is the Nintendo Entertainment System. It came with one controller, a light gun, Super Mario Brothers, and Duck Hunt. I had to share it with my younger brother, but it was worth it.

Hmm. This will be a tough one. I can't say I've ever gotten a bad present, and it would be tough to pick the best. I must cogitate upon this.

Worst thing ever, as a kid: clothing! -why is it that parents and grandparents and great-grand parents think it's such a big deal to give children underwear and sweaters for x-mas gifts??? -don't they remember how it is to be a kid?

Best x-mas gift ever, also as a kid, the electric 12 Volt LEGO train set!...

Guess which one would make a decent avatar!

I have a story, but I wouldn't know how to make it into an av. It actually goes to both best and worst presents.

My father has always been rather inconsiderate (as in he didn't make an effort). When my parents were still married, it wasn't that apparent, since my mother really is good at giving presents.

The best example of my father's present choosing disability was one christmas, I must have been 12 or 13 or something like that. I have four brothers, and among us, I'm the only one who's really into comics and really into Star Trek.
So, this one christmas our father gave each of us two Star Trek comic trades. It was pretty obvious my father had found the bunch of them in a special offer in a book store. While I was happy, my brothers were pretty pissed.

Okay, here we go:

A few years ago, my Brother gave me this boxed set of Ed Wood DVDs. That makes it both the best and the worst present I ever got. :rommie:

here we go: this is owl. My mom crotcheted her for me 47 years ago. Owl went with me to all vaccination appointments and the doc would give both of us a roll of fruit drops for being so brave =)

That's great. :D I actually still have the stuffed bunny that my Mother gave to me on my first Easter, which would make him 51 years old (and I do have a picture of him on my deviantArt page).
