Mirror says New Console Room for Smith

as long as they dont make any changes to the outside, other than bringing it up to HD standard it shouldnt be a problem.

I do like the console room, but im not overly surprised its being changed.

I hope they do it like is suggested in Time Crash

I'm all for it. The console should always be changing in my mind. Hopefully we'll get a redesigned opening sequence, too.

apparently Moffat wants a clean break between RTD's era and his.

Absolutely nothing to do with it. (Never trust any information in a Tabloid that comes from our old friend Mr Unnamed Source.)

As soon as the decision to go HD was made a new TARDIS set was inevitable. (It was one of the key reasons given for not doing so before now.) And in fact, unless they plan not to have any scenes inside the Ship before the Regeneration happens we'll see it first in one of the Specials.

actually seeing Tennant give the TARDIS console room a make over, whilst he is at a loose sans companion, could be amusing, each specail the he will have done a bit more of the console room.

the end is the Doctor looking round having finally finished, then drops his sonic hammer on his foot and regenerates.

Nothing dates quicker than hi-tech, so I'd be amazed if they went in that direction.

It's funny I can still remember being wowed by the new console that was unveiled in 'The Five Doctors' but looking at it today it's just a collection of buttons that don't actually move and some twinkly lights. On the other hand I still like the original console that lasted all the way up to the early Pertwee years.

Whatever it does look like I've only really got two wishes; firstly for a proper scanner screen as opposed to a LCD display on the console and secondly for a bloomin' door to the rest of the Ship, even if we never actually go through it. (And Moffat does seem to be in the 'TARDIS as mechanism for getting the Doctor into and out of each story' camp.)

I wouldn't mind if they changed the console room. It's happened before. I would like to see the Tardis grow to have extra rooms, like it used to. I always liked the idea of it being this massive, maze-like structure.

The weird thing is, what seems hi-tech to us could be amusingly outdated for the Doctor. He does like his eccentric knick-knacks, and this is the guy who once had a steampunk console.

Which sort of begs the question: what's a "dated" look for a time traveler?

I never thought the new Tardis wasn't like that, they just didn't show it and the door was on one of the "invisible" walls we can't see on TV. It would be nice to see an actual door again though.

Well if it has to be done for HD anyway then why not? Tis only a one off cost anyway.

I wonder just how different it will be?

I remember watching Logopolis and the doctor inputting the dimensions of the tardis on some really ancient computer

Someone more computer savvy might know what computer that was at the time of filming
