And there is a crew member napping in the corridor during Data's dream sequence, as the flying crow. Sorry if someone already mentioned this gem.
 
Do these things actually detract from anyone's enjoyment of the show? I've noticed a strange black box outside the ready room door, and someone's bag on the bridge (IIRC, the latter was in the first epiosde of the second season), and couldn't care less.
Not really...unless someone points it out I never catch it. I miss seeing the Observer hidden in every Fringe episode all the time so I'm not very observant I guess.
 
In "Birthright Part 1" after Bashir leaves Data at his quarters you can see that Bashir is wearing a pair of white tennis shoes rather than standard Starfleet work boots.
As I recall, at one point in his life, Bashir considered leaving the practice of medicine, and making his living as a tennis pro.

Perhaps this explains the tennis shoes?
