Micheal Jackson has died

I know this is wrong... but this is kinda exciting. I'm not some obsessive Jacko fan or anything, but if this is true this is gonna be HUGE

Like "where were you when...", talked about for decades to come
With your Farrah comment earlier and now this one....

Me thinks you got issues...:wtf:

People are lacking taste in expressing it, but I think the commentary is MJ's death just bumped the death of an old Hollywood sweetheart and the building revolution in Iran.

He was an incredibly talented, and incredibly troubled person. I hope he finds the peace that seemed to elude him.

Well said -- I completely agree with that sentiment.

I have mixed feelings about this, but there's no denying he was a legend in the music industry. I can't say I didn't find his behaviour to be rather questionable these past few years, but I hope he will be remembered more for his contributions to the entertainment world, and his humanitarian efforts, at least for today.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson, the King of Pop.

Holy crap. The 80's was my era so I used to love his stuff before he just lost it. Really sad news.

I guess we can kiss any chance of getting any actual 'news' off any of the cable networks til at least Monday.

Ed, Farrah, now MJ? Man, talk about pounding a stake through the heart of my childhood. :(

I've always thought that Jackson's composition (with Lionel Ritchie) "We Are The World" was a dreadful piece of music. Just thought you'd like to know. :shifty:

I couldn't have said it better myself.

At least MTV is doing a classy thing and started playing Michael Jackson videos almost immediately upon the news of his death. (Yes, they're ACTUALLY playing music videos!) Let''s face it, he made MTV.

BBC News just confirmed it.

Today's the day the 80's died.

Yeah man, I know exactly how you feel as I was thinking the SAME thing driving home from work. The 80s officially feel old now with MJ dead. Correction, as you said the 80s died today with MJ.

No more debate about, or pretending like it's not the case. With 1980 being 30 years ago next year, the 80s are "the parents" or "the adults" decade now.

RIP

Michael Jackson

you will be missed, even if you were a freak the last 15 years.

The man had many many problems, but there's no denying that he was a talented musician and dancer.

R.I.P. Michael.

I can just imagine all the Tabloid news editors across Britain literally jazzing their pants in glee right now.
"Violence in Iran? Farrah Fawcett? MP expenses? Jordan & Peter Andre? Fuck all that, this is gonna set us up for months!"

Yep. Like I said, it's going to be like Di all over again- black bordered frontpages, no other news anywhere...

This is really, really sad. It comes as a total shock, especially after a recent press appearance where he looked really healthy and positive. The man had his problems, and it's a tragedy it all ended like this.

I'll play my favourite MJ track, "Smooth Criminal" now. RIP Michael.

Never mind the tabloid editors, how about the world's unscrupulous politicians who now have a golden opportunity to "bury bad news" all over again?

After all his fame, fortune, and controversies, may Michael Jackson finally rest in peace. :(

Wierd thin is today on the way home from work I was wondering who would be next because of the old saying that Hollywood stars die in 3's. He had his issues but hell of an entertainer. Sad day.

RIP for him, the news came out of nowhere (i was driving around and hadnt heard any news all night)

Always liked his songs, he will be missed.

Was it really surprising? He was taking tons of drugs and tearing his face apart, while clearly being completely insane. A very talented musician, but a shame he left the planet Earth some time back in the early 1980s, and he looked zombified half a decade ago.
