Michael Vick: Philadelphia Eagle

Thestral

Vice Admiral

I posted it in the main NFL thread, but I'll say here what I said there: if the NFL can allow Vick to resume his career, then it's past time for MLB to induct Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame.

Agreed.

Betting on games is hardly on the level of abusing dogs and making them fight to the bloody death. If Vick gets another chance, so should Rose.

That's good. It's nice that Vick is going to a relatively sedate environment where the fans won't be too judgmental of him.

:guffaw: :guffaw:

Wonder what they'll throw this time? Bags full of dogshit?

Choker collars? Dog leashes? Angry pit bulls?

In all seriousness, the man deserves a second chance, especially when you've got people playing in the NFL who've killed humans. And he seems to be making all the right moves, working with the Humane Society, being mentored by Tony Dungy.

Eagles brought him in to... umm... maybe some Wildcat? Kolb went down, maybe his injury is worse than anybody's realizing and they don't wanna rely on Feeley? I'm sure Reid and co. have a good reason and some good use for him to risk the nighmare known as Michael Vick + Philly fans.

So what's your excuse for Donte Stallworth and Ray Lewis?

Stallworth killed somebody. I don't care if it was an accident. Like Vick, his sole second chance should be limited to not being in prison.

As for Ray-ray, well, there seems to be some confusion as to exactly what he did. His guilt isn't nearly as obvious as Stallworth or Vick. So banning him permanently would be premature.

I'm sure the Philly fans will voice their opinion at the first home game.

But will it be noticeably different than how Philly fans behave at home games normally?

I mean, Philly home games are already filled with the maximum level of booing from the crowd. Thats what makes them Philly home games. ;)
