It's a milestone, alright. He was always distinctive and interesting, with that face and voice of his. I know him from "Miri," Lost in Space, and also Little Fauss and Big Halsy (1970). I read somewhere that Robert Redford bought up all the rights to that movie in order to make it disappear.

Which goes to show you can't believe everything you read. But it seemed plausible when I read it, because the film was nowhere to be found at that time.
