Michael Emerson is a PERSON OF INTEREST

The ongoing story with the murder in the 70's and Enrico Colantoni character that probably will escalate towards the end is actually not that bad.

That plotline also seems overly familiar. I should have known CBS would take this premise and do it in the most ham-handedly obvious and uncreative way possible.

It's not like there's a crack team of CBS writers. It's just the writers and showrunners for PoI are bad.

Are they bad writers or could they do better on a show that isn't slated for CBS? It does seem like the writing (and production and most of the acting) is very much in the CBS style. I don't think that's a coincidence and just reinforces my observation that shows are crafted for the channel they're on, and the same premise on AMC or HBO would be vastly different and better.

I'm more inclined to give a show like Hell on Wheels "time to shape up" because it's on AMC and has expectations to meet. but PoI is already shaped up to fit CBS like a glove, and it's not going to improve or change in the least.

The plotline seems to be shaping up lately, with more depth to the major character interactions, and I'm no longer thinking of dropping it. It'll probably be back in 2011, the ratings weren't awful.

Carter recognized Finch - from the old days in Afghanistan? Or have they met onscreen and I just forgot?

I like the idea of them roping in the detective. Their circle is getting wider. I would still like to get a little more on Finch, though.

they met during the bank robery episode. great episode this week now we got break time I hate that.

Did anyone watch the latest episode?

I really enjoyed the history of the Machine flashbacks. I've stated previously that I think the Machine may have it's own agenda (ala Forbin's Colossus) that will hopefully be explored more in the future. Related to that, I that Finch may have gotten his limp from a falling out with his old partner Ingram when he finds out the Machine has marked him.

I also enjoyed how the shoes were on the other feet this week with Finch being the action man (poking him in the eye sure worked!) and Reese doing the tech work, though Reese sure can fight even being gutshot.

Good stuff! Looking forward to further developments with Carter as well.

I loved the fact that he would'nt use the but cussuion.

also the building super was that batista from dexter?

Lost alum Michael Emerson is set as a lead in Jonah Nolan’s CBS pilot Person of Interest which is being executive-produced by Lost co-creator, The project, directed by David Semel, is a crime drama centered on an ex-CIA agent, presumed dead, who teams up with a mysterious billionaire (Emerson) to prevent violent crimes in New York City.

He's one of my favorite actors of all time, so I hope this makes it to series... and has a more interesting sounding premise.

Seriously, wtf!!! What is this huge thing surrounding this guy? The only thing I've ever seen him in is that X-Files epsiode 'Sunny Day's' or some shit....Why is everyone like OBSESSED with this guy???

Yup, that was Angel Batista.

I like the idea of this show going more sci fi by implying the Machine may have some form of sentience. Anything to break the cop show formula.

Probably would help if you saw his performance on Lost.

He's an excellent character actor, but I wouldn't say he's garnering more attention than a couple dozen other well-regarded TV actors I could name. Why is everyone obsessed with Bryan Cranston, Giancarlo Esposito, Katee Sackhoff, Walton Goggins, Michael C. Hall...
