Michael Emerson is a PERSON OF INTEREST

As much as I praised this one after the first two-three episodes, since then we've got no new backstory, and very formulaic crime of the week.
It lost its top spot on my weekly "need to watch" list - Castle is back where it belongs :)

Hope this gets the full season. The most recent episode was probably my favorite, with a new interesting character, more backstory/arc development, more involvement in the main story for Finch, and I think I'm settling into this being a fun show. I have to admit I find Reese's character slightly amusing, which probably isn't the intent, but his delivery is sort of like Christian Bale's Batman singing a lullaby to a child.

The last episode defintly set a marker for the show, I thought it was outstanding and I look forward to rest of the season. On a sidenote is this Elias the same guy who was behind that stolen evidence a few weeks ago where black dude from castle was killed at end?

Finally watched the last two episodes back-to-back. I was already getting the feeling during "The Fix" that the show was ramping up towards real answers with the "Elias" mystery, and "Witness" certainly did not disappoint in bringing us face-to-face with Elias himself. Definitely looking forward to seeing where this goes, particularly since Enrico Colantoni is now involved.

Oh, yeah. He was far too calm. I knew something was up. It was a very enjoyable episode, nonetheless.

I hope we get more about Finch. I find him far more interesting than Reese.

I wonder how long Michael Emerson can keep the stiff posturing of his character.

Doing that for so long can't be good.

It reminds me of Hugh Laurie and him now having problems because of doing a fake limp.

As a Dollhouse fan I enjoyed seeing Enver Gjonak (probably spelled incorrectly) again.

Close. It's Enver Gjokaj. I was happy to see him, too. I thought he was far and away the most talented person on Dollhouse. It was good to see him on screen again, even though it was a fairly small part. That young man deserves some much bigger roles.

I agree. I was disappointed to see him in a pretty small role that essentially amounted to "thug." On the upside, his survival means he could return, but on this show there's not much time for character development aside from Finch, Reese and maybe Elias. I like the show, it's just not really a place where actors are going to get great dialogue and real depth. Hopefully someone else noticed what a great job he did on Dollhouse and utilizes his talents at some point. But hey, at least he's working.

They hired a good actor to play Elias, but I'm not sure how much longer I can stay interested in this show. The execution is just too bland and CBS-y for my tastes. Jim Caveziel still doesn't know the difference between portraying an emotionally stunted guy, vs acting like he's on heavy meds.

^If they focused on Finch more and less on Reese, I think it would improve dramatically. Caveziel is just too robotic in the role---which may be what the directors/producers want, but it's not terribly interesting to watch.

I thought this weeks episode was great. and we had a little bit of character developement to. which is what this show needs.

The Stasi episode was just a lot of mopey spy story cliches cobbled together. Felt absolutely false, even by CBS standards. I'm not sure how much more of this show I'll be able to tolerate. The premise and Michael Emerson are great, Jim Caveziel might be better if given better direction, but the execution is too blah and phoney.
