Merry Christmas!

Actually, it made it through just fine. Phlox mentions participation in several human religious activities, a century after WW3 ended.

More than 70 years of severe Communist dictatorship in the Soviet Union and almost 50 years of the same system in the East European countries couldn't stop the Christian religion to return as soon as Communism was overthrown.

So I guess that this WW3 wouldn't have done it either, rather the opposite.

Besides that, I think that the whole WW3 thing in Star Trek feels a bit unnecessary to say the least. The world would probably not have recovered from such an atrocity. On the contrary, most of life would have been destroyed for centuries and never have recovered so quickly to become what the Star Trek Earth became in the 23rd century.

I’ve wondered what the Promenade would look like with a Christmas tree. How would the Bajorans react?

I would be interested to know if the Bajorans have their own traditions for celebrating the winter solstice.

My guess is that they wouldn't bother since the Federation are their friends and the bajorans seem rather tolerant to others beliefs.

Probably.
At least the Bajorans who live near the polar areas of the planet.

I think that in the polar regions, the big one would be the vernal equinox, because that's when the six-month night finally ends.

We're left to imagine what the climate is like on Bajor and how much it varies from place to place. The trees and plants on Bajor's capital look pretty lush, not like a city that has hard freezes every winter.

The promenade is a shared space. If someone wants a Chrismas tree, they should put it up in their own shop, if they had one, or in their quarters. I bet the freight charges for bringing a tree up from Bajor would eat them alive anyway.
