Merlin series 3

Planned or wanted?

Season one isn't too different from now?

The dragon has been freeed, Morgana's lineage has been revealed and Merlin's lineage at that too... but it's still fight the magical threat in secret every week even if we have re-ocurring villains sometimes.

Another great episode, Colin Morgan had some great moments in this. It was nice to see Gwaine again, and now Gwen knows about Morgana!! Ooh things are getting really interesting, and was that some foreshadowing for the finale with the Fisher King giving Merlin the water?

I haven't seen it yet, but isn't it amazing how the second half of the season always steps things up into a mini arc for the finale? Why don't they just have linear storylines throughout the season and forget the creature feature and funny fluff? with 10 eps next year, they are going to have to really buckle down and not to the same old first of half season juvenile-ness that puts off so many.

Another great episode!

Once again a new chapter out of my favorite book "1001 Ways To Fuck Up Arthur's Day".

Well this week's dipped a bit, but still had some interesting elements. Merlin dobbing in Pauline Collins was a surprise, as was Gaius using magic. Should have had more oomph to it though!

No idea what the point of that episode was. It didn't add anything to the story nor did it progress the story in any way. There are too many fillers this season. It's depressing. I think that's why the run has been reduced for next season; to reduce the fillers.

^Hopefully. Unless Gaius using magic is a major point in the near future then year it was a bit pointless. At least it wasn't a bad episode even if it was just filler.

well I think Gaius using magic should have been a major plot point...so if it was just throwaway I'll be annoyed.

Since Gaius is the only one who knows Uther's secret, I always assumed he knew how to use magic but didn't because of Uther's ban.

I thought that was already confirmed right back in series 1? But it seemed that he was actually quite powerful in this, just rusty.

Yeah I think it was revealed in S1 that Gaius was magical back in the day, but he hasn't used that in twenty years (despite everything thats happened) so him using it now should have some knock on effect...I bet it doesn;t though.

^ Thereby proving Uther right. That would certainly be a unique twist for the series to take.

They really need to start progressing the relationship between Arthur and Merlin.

It's very hard to take Arthur seriously as a stand-up guy who feels for the little people when he keeps throwing metal objects at Merlin's head and taking every opportunity to belittle him.
