Merlin series 3

Well I'm sure some people will have hated it because it was a comedy episode, but I really liked this week.

Merlin got to kick some magical arse, Arthur and Gwen got some nice scenes together, and Gaius got horribly embaressed!

All ths plus Morgana actually being subtly evil for once!

Merlin can atomize people?

Why isn't Morgana busted up into atoms?

I just don't get his motivations.

He wants to save the day without harming the villain who he is not in love with and forgets to be afraid of.

Madness.

Ideally, they should have poisoned the king's ward and then discretely fed her the antidote every day to insure that if (WHEN!) she kills them, that she won't get to dance on their graves.

This is madness!!!

Morgan should try to bed Arthur is she wants to force Uthur to admit who she really is.

I though the new princess was prettier with the fairy inside of her.

Her mop was stupendous!

Something to hold on to.

I actually liked this episode. Done better than the Goblin episode.
The comedy was done right for the most part, they didn't allow it to stop them from telling a more serious story and the toilet humour actually served a purpose.
Strangely I agree with Guy, I fancied her more before they got rid of the fairy.

Lets be honest, most kings or princes of the time would have been shagging the chamber maid - they may not be able to marry but get it on already.

Maybe Uthur hasn't given him the chat about what he's "supposed" to do with his penis and where he's "supposed" to put it?

Then again this is a magical universe so maybe baby's are delivered by storks and found under cabbage shoots because cocks are only for pissing out of?

Becuase if Arthur knew what his dong was for, he'd be shagging his sister since no ones explained to him that it's wrong.

i enjoyed this week's. although, i too thought, marry her and bang Gwen already...

but, that'd be promoting adultery and this IS a family show...

Me too, must have been all the belching and farting"

I liked this week's a lot. Good Arthur/Gwen stuff, Morgana got to be a bitch, Merlin was on good form, Arthur is a one man army..oh and there was an awful lot of Emilia Fox too :D

My girlfriend can't wait for next when when Emilia's all latexed up like a hag!!

Best episode of the season so far? Possibly...

Yeah it was a pretty good episode, Morgana getting to be evil and do something rather than stand about pulling "evil" faces. Arthur and Merlin were on top form too.

Was that Gwaine in the trailer for next week?

at the end when Gwen and Arthur were talking i sat there and said 'kiss him, you fool!' and then when it cut to Arthur, i said 'kiss her, you fool!'.

but they didn't... :(

good episode. loved Merlin's plan... shove Arthur out to fight!

^That's the one thing you can count on, the Merlin/Arthur stuff. Always brilliant. "Will wonder's never cease?"

Yeah the show wouldn't be half as good without their banter, they were both exceptionally well cast.

When oh when oh when will they ditch the gurner? She's actually driving me away from the show.

Morgana? I wish they'd have left her out of Camelot at least. I hate the way they're keeping everyone but Merlin oblivious to the fact that she's pulling evil faces every 5 seconds.

Merlin has been picked up for a 4th series. Though it looks like they've reduced the order to 10 episodes.

Excellent news, I'm hoping the show gets to complete its story. Was it four or five series they had planned?

Reduction to ten episodes makes sense given budgetry constraints, and I hope it means a tighter season with less padding, hoping as well it means ten episodes at the current budget as well, which has to be better than 13 episodes at a lower budget.

I don't mind Morgana, Katie McGrath does play evil very well, although I admit there is something very pantomime about her at times! She has got a bit more subtle of late.

I do agree that the whole Merlin/Morgana thing can't go on forever, lets be honest all she really has to do is turn up in Uther's quarters, dress torn, tears in her eyes, and say that Merlin attacked her and Merlin's screwed! Uther will believe anything she says!!

I'm also wondering at what point Morgause will realise there's something fishy about the ongoing survival of a simple serving boy...

Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy, executive producers for Shine TV, said referring to the future plot trajectory: "We are both delighted with the continuing success of Merlin, and relish the chance to take the series to the next level with the long-awaited arrival of the Knights of the Round Table."

Hopefully that means they're planning on properly pushing the story forward.

Maybe she thinks that it's not the same kid? Maybe she thinks that Arthur is such a dick that he calls all his serving boys Merlin and replaces them every other week?

Lets hope so.

SFX made an interesting point in wondering whether the 10 episode series was partly motivated by scheduling issues with Who's season being split?

I imagine they will push Merlin to Spring 2012 because it only films next spring, and I can't see them rushing it in to a summer slot.
