Merlin series 3

Oddly I find her less attractive as Morause than usual...maybe it's cos she's the bad girl for once!

And frankly the name doesn't help, it's awful!

What did everyone think of this week's then? I only got around to seeing it last night. Sure some will be complaining it was too silly (and I did have a bit of a slitheen flashback with all the farting) but on the whole I thought it was very funny, and the show can't be dark all the time. Richard Wilson must have enjoyed making this one!

I can't say I was too impressed, they've done better comedy episodes in the past, but it wasn't as bad as their worst either, so I hope this is a one off dip in quality.

Hmm, really not sure about tonight. IT just all felt very familiar, very Lancelot in fact.

Seriously is Arthur going to meet every knight of the round table who will then proceed to bugger off at the end of the episode?

Lancelot did come back.

Saw the King Arthur episode of Babylon 5 this morning.

"Many the time it was in the morning after a hard nights drink, that we would take one look at Sir Guane and we would say yes, there he is, the green Knight."

hey?

Where the frack was Morgana?

I liked Gwaine a lot more than I liked Lancelot. Significantly better casting there, though it's a shame that they made him all Lanceloty. Short of having him kick Arthur's ass during their initial meet, and them telling us he was Gwaine instead of Lancelot, you'd never have suspected.

Anyway, it was my favorite episode of the season so far. I may be a bit biased, though, since I like to play roguish warriors in various RPG games, too.

She could be as cool as Zelda the dread foe of the Terrahawks endlessly plotting master plan week after week...

For goodness sake some one reeking of Magic tried to kill Merlin and she didn't try to get in with them?

Thought it was an improvement over last week's episode, and a decent episode despite being like the tournament episode they do every year. I did comment is every knight of the round table going to fancy Gwen?
I have to say Gwain reminded me of Marcus from Babylon 5.

This show is hopeless. I only watched up to episode 2, and really nothing has changed this season. Nothing will ever change.

They really need to off Uther already. All the other changes to the mythos are bad enough, but that one is just making the show far more lame than it needs to be.

At least Morgana is turning into Morgana, though.

The touble is the show is quite finely balanced with Uther in place, eventually they will need to get rid of him but I think they could do it too soon (of course they could do it too late as well!)

The show ends when Arthur is crowned King.

It's a prequel.

Quickly followed the next year by a show called Arthur, but that's beside the point and exactly the same argument people have been making about smallville being cancelled and replaced by a show called Metropolis so that Clark can frakking fly.

Although how guaranteed is Arthur's succession? Sure he's in line, but what if uthur loses the kingdom (or banishes Arthur... Which would put Morgana first in line?), dies, and Arthur has to go on the run and doesn't get Camelot back for some years until both he and Colin (Colin needs to eat a cookie too if they want to age him. And some pork pies too. Maybe all the pork pies.) can grow manly manly beards after a 5 year jump between seasons?

Queen Morgana (After legalizing gay marrag... I mean magic) sending out winged Monkees (yes Monkees!) to Destroy Arthur and Merlin living/hiding in a nearby forest would make for an interesting Season before blondy takes back the throne.

A season more of that where Arthur creates Albion.and then they rename the show Guinevere because she'd be shagging Lancelot and Arthur at the same time and can't make up her mind who to stand by...

Of course there's no reason to say that these shows couldn't be being made at the same time even though they're set in different time periods with the same actors.

Well I liked this week's even if it was a tad predictable at times.
Morgana is Uther's daughter eh? Hardly a huge surprise there! She and Morgause are still sisters though right, same mother wasn;t it?

I do wonder if there'll be some tension now between Mogana and Morgause? Both seem to have differing agendas from here on in, and it wouldn't surprise me if it was Mogana who eventually killed Morgause (I'm going to hate that episode! :()

Geez though, how much evidence to Gaius need?

"Gaius, Uther is dead, Morgana killed him!"

"ARe you sure Merlin, I think you're reading too much into it..."

I think Morgana's being written as going off her rocker. Morgause stays focused but Morgana's a loose cannon. I hope she gets more insane as it goes on. I'm missing next week's since I can't stand the enchanted goblin episodes. I gave the 'fun' one a body swerve last week too.

^Yeah, that was the main problem I had with the episode. I mean Morgana has twice tried to kill Uther (if I'm remembering correctly) and tried to overthrow Camelot now, why would he have any problem believing she was plotting to kill Uther?

Other than that though it was a good episode, I just wish they'd have kept this tone for more episodes rather than reverting to the comedy quite so much and doing so many rehashes of previous episodes.

^ Yeah Arthur with an enchanted love interest again...it's like the only way they can move the Arthur/Gwen storyline along is to try and drive someone between them! That said it isn't like Who doesn't do the same repeat storyline trick from year to year (just less obviously)

I don't mind the humour, and remember some of the supposed comedy episodes can be quite dark in places...maybe they're just getting them all out of the way early? :)

One thing I can't wait for now will be the episod where Morgana tries to swat Merlin away using her magic and he just holds up a hand and stops her with his own. I really want that smug smile wiping off Morgana's face!
