Hiya, folks.

The main thread got hijacked a bit with past pics, due to Carl's birthday, so I thought I'd start us an entire thread devoted to shots from the past.

I'm afraid I don't have the captions themselves saved, but most speak for themselves.

At one point, I planned on starting an actual web site to archive the entries, but babies started falling out of the sky. If anyone wants to take that idea over, I'd be glad to help in any way I can.

Please chime in with any oldies you folks have saved.

Though I rarely post captions as I'm simply not very clever, I love the hell out of these childish things, and want all and sundry to know they do give me a laugh, especially in trying times. The Carl Spock retrospective was fantastic. And Rat Boy, I did figure out how to download the pic.

Aw, I'm getting all teary eyed wandering down Memory Lane. I know some (even staff ) find these contests vulgar and unfunny, but I'll admit that the Caption This! thread is almost always the first one I check when I hit the forum.

Then, and only then do I go get a drink. I've learned not to get the drink first.

Actually, I just rendered a polygonal M'Ress in an otherwise empty cabin with a bad pun about receiving "kitty" porn. You displayed some masterful cropping skills by removing M'Ress from the original background, matting her into the shot with Kirk reclining upon his bunk, and scripting a far more amusing and somewhat more tasteful joke. Basically, you turned my "sow's ear" into a "silk purse".
