Memory Alpha has changed the name Rhaandarite to Vegan

You've got to admit though, the Gorn captain could be a Starjelly and just transform into an Akira class ship.

Fun Fact: While writing a post I sometimes insert sentences in the middle of a previously working and logic text. The way Trump is perceived in public is a lot more negative than before. Then stuff like this happenes.

Wait, they're still arguing? MA has very strict guidelines of what is canon and what not. EIther the Kelvin timeline's name falls under the canon part or not. In the german MB we have already changed all the "Alternate Timeline" to "Kelvin Timeline" and we don't even have that many rules, just that generally relaunch trumps older book and... Yeah that's pretty much it.

M-A uses the term 'Mirror Universe'. When it is never said on screen at all. Which throws a wrench in their argument.

Yeah, didn't they call it that in DS9?
I think they did. Consequently, of course, both the Prime and the Mirror Universe should be called the "Alternate Universe" as both have probably been refered to as that by inhabitants of the other universe.

*nods*

"Mirror Universe" - while commonly the accepted term - comes from production documents rather than onscreen dialogue.

Is there anything we can do about it? I'm currently arguing on the talk page to change it back. If anyone feels as strongly about it as I do, I would appreciate your help.

I've always frowned upon those who travel to other sites in the name of recruiting people to participate in a flame war. Just because people are on your side doesn't make you right.

The discussion was not a flame war and I had no intention of turning it into one. I came here in the hopes that someone could present an argument that would convince the opposing side to change the page back to what it originally was. It worked.

As for whether or not having more people on my side can help me win an argument, I guess it depends on the wiki. On Wikipedia, arguments are resolved by consensus, but on Memory Alpha, I think it's a bit more complicated. The opinions of admins and former admins carry a lot of weight.

It was a simple plea for evidence that would carry weight. MA accepts only certain approved reference sources. (I had a similar fight getting "Efrosian" recognized; I finally tracked down a memo from the studio and a caption on a publicity still with help from several others.) Simply stating in the "Talk" section that a decision is not correct is not sufficient.
