Mega Man: TOS

Well, there's a cutscene in X4 that shows Zero waking up in a capsule while Dr. Wily watches him wake. Then it cuts to Zero in a laboratory with a bunch of dead bodies on the ground, including one that looks like Auto, with Zero's hands covered in blood.

There's no official explanation, but the leading theory is that Wily built Zero and sent him on a mission to destroy Megaman and Light once and for all. He succeeded in killing Megaman, Roll, Dr. Light, Auto, Rush, etc., but in the fight Zero was disabled and lost his memory. X was probably built around the same time to counter Zero, but Light must have been unable to finish X in time to stop him. And that's about all we know until Capcom decides to, if ever, tie it all together.

I'd seen that cutscene, but was wondering if there was more to the story than what is demonstrated there; I was also wondering if X had any more overt connections to the past than simply being built by Light.'

I've got a question: if there was a way to do a live-action/CGI version of the MM franchise (be it the classic series, the X series, or any of the other 'multiverse' stories out there) in either film or on television, what would you guys like to see done, specifically? Who would you cast, ideally, in each of the major roles? What would be the 'core' story you'd like to see focused on/utilized?

In spite of its bad reputation, the cartoon series that was based on the original Mega Man series had a very decent first episode that dealt (via flashbacks) to Mega Man's initial creation and why he was built. The animation in that particular episode was also very well-done.

I'd imagine if a new series or film came, it'd be some introductory to the audience. I know I would like to see that. The story I really want to see is if the timelines of Mega Man and Mega Man X are connected.

The original series is the one for me. Mega Man and The Legend of Zelda are the two video game series I can revisit and play through them like it's my first time. I never tire of them.

I fell out of the Mega Man X series while playing through X6. Many didn't seem like to like X5, but I liked it just fine -- some felt the series started waning at that point. For me, X6 was a frustrating experience. I never finished it and just tossed it aside and decided the X series was over for me.
Might be because X5 was suppose to be the conclusion. Capcom just kept trying to milk the X-cow.

The other series: Zero, ZX, Battle Network, Star Force, are just Mega Man In Name Only.
Zero was Kenji Inafune's original idea for the character.

Thats bogus. The only thing definite about Zero is that he was built by Wily as the carrier for the maverick virus.

This is me running through Air Man's stage almost flawlessly. I recorded this for a friend, though my fight with Air Man is quite sloppy, I know this stage backwards and forwards.

And the desktop is purely a coincidence.

Has anyone here read the Mega Man Megamix manga, or planning to check out the new American comic starting up this week? I'm planning on checking this stuff out soon, and was wondering if anyone here can give me their impressions. The new comic is unproven of course, but I've heard nothing but excellent things about the manga series.
