I've got a feeling that Picard's influence is going to rub off on Rios after a while.

My brother said earlier, "I don't like that he has a cigar". To which I said, exact quote, "It's to show he's a rogue-type. 'We're not on no Starfleet ship anymore!' Why did I just use an accent?"

If he was Starfleet, you might have a point.
You don't. He's not, It's his ship. So that's a non issue.

As far as a pure 02 environment; This isn't the time of the Apollo 1 command module test,.they've obviously overcome that. Previous series had open flames all the time, from candles, cooking,etc.

Health is the only concern, ..and it could be some reinvented artificial harmless form, or he could have artificial lungs. Or he just doesn't give a frak LOL!
Just so long as he doesn't Nick Fury it and smoke in his space-helmet!
