McCoy wants to come back...

As DW's anniversary would occur in November 2013, what about having a two, three or four part special that starts in November and then concludes as the Xmas special?

They ought to do a full-season story with each ep featuring a different previous Doc and a 2 hour finale with all of them to tie it up. Matt Smith would tie all the eps together. I think this is the only way to insure that each Doc gets his due of screen time.
Each Doc's story should be appropriate to the character: 1st Doc-a Dalek story, 2nd- Cybermen, 3rd- The Master etc. Have a classic companion for each. Some kind of arced story would run through all the eps. This would be a great way for the BBC to reintroduce these classic Docs to the modern audience who weren't even born when those classic shows aired.
I'm all for capable actors to portray deceased Doc actors and would prefer that Tom doff a few pounds and color his hair instead of using the comic.

I like this idea a lot. Too bad the BBC only makes 12 <COUGH> Sorry... SIX episodes per season. You're thinking of a more typical American 23 episode season where you con have thrilling seven episode arcs, etc.

Well, 11 Doctors so you'd need 11-13 eps to carry it off. That's in line with a BBC season.

I have glimpsed the future and can reveal that for the 50th anniversary all the surviving Doctor Who actors will reunuite...for a special...one off...episode of The Weakest Link!

Presented by the Anne-Droid ;)

Oh, God. I have such a sense of dread that this is going to happen....

If one were to write a multi-Doctor arc throughout an entire 13 episode season I think that you would have to have at the that series core a theme and of course a plot that builds up to perhaps all of the Doctor's eventually interacting with each other like in the comic The Forgotten (even though those weren't his real incarnations). Perhaps that there is a threat that only all the Doctor's can face together. I don't know if you would include those Doctor's companions like "The Five Doctors" did could be too expensive salary wise and just not doable to recruit all of the past companions. I would have the Eighth, Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh personally with homages to the previous Doctor's. Maybe even have the plot revolve around the Master or something like that. It will definitely be interesting to see what the Beeb comes up with for the anny.

I'm personally not a huge McCoy fan, though I know that he's popular in fandom and does heaps of Cons etc. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing him back though as he's as much a part of the history of the show as anything else.

my idea for a 50th anniversary story is a young One,

Rik Mayall as the Doctor? Hmm, maybe...

Someone correct this ignorant Yank if I'm wrong, but, is that Adrian Edmonson (Vyvian) as the bad guy in the pilot of Holmes? Just curious if anyone knew.

No more than it can David Tennant... :p

I'm taking back your Christmas present.

:wtf: I'm de-friending you! No, wait, I like having friends with different opinions than mine. You can stay. :adore:

:luvlove: Awww....you know I really don't mean that about the DT. I was just giving Kelso a hard time. Doctor Ten may have bothered me sometimes, but there is no question that David Ten is a marvelous actor. :techman:

^ I Assume you mean Sherlock (unless it's called Holmes in the US?). If so, then no, it's veteran Brit actor Phil Davies

Geez. I didn't even recognize that guy from his DW role. He's a good actor!

But he did remind me of Norman Lovett! Though, as you pointed out, totally not him.

Oh! It's the villain from Fires of Pompeii! That's why he seemed so overtly familiar. Nice! :techman:

I wouldn't mind seeing the older actors, but maybe not as the Doctor. Here's a 30-second idea:

1. Weird time-fragmenting thing happens with the TARDIS

2. Somehow leads to the Doctor's incarnations getting Arched and living out their lives. Logically, it shouldn't be possible, but the TARDIS got hit with a dose of timey-whimey. Maybe 4's a professor emeritus at Oxford? That way, it makes some sense that they look way different from their last appearance.

3. 11 has to TECH the TECH to reset the timeline, and he has a brief encounter with each incarnation, who don't know that he's them.

Just a thought. I'd like to see something, but I'd probably prefer it not be within the context of a regular story.

That reminds me a bit of Big Finish's Zagreus and a lot of fans weren't happy with that result...
