Still working on this.

I am going to make a few others for some famous fed ships too. I wasn't too sure about the swords, but then it is a coat of arms!

A couple of minor quibbles, if you don't mind. The swords pull the eye away from the actual design. Not because they're swords, but because of the coloring. Try it with the color on the swords muted, and in a metallic. Also, metallic reflections generally run the length of a blade. Try rotating them (the reflections) so that they run that way and see if it doesn't feel better. Finally, there's the red command insignia- would a gold metallic be more appropriate?

Now, if it were me, I'd get rid of the swords because they make me think "mirror universe" too much, and change the command insignia to the same gold as you have edging the shield, however, it's your design, so do what you like best.

All that said, I really like your design. You've managed to combine a number of symbols without screaming "paste-up!" I could easily see this design hanging in the lounge of any of the Enterprises from the 1701 to the 1701-E.

Nice work!

Thanks for pointers. I kind of agree. I did initially do muted colours. Having seen lots of coats of arms for inspiration on google they are all so colourful that. I felt it needed some colour as it looked a bit drab. The swords were done quickly really. I'll have another bash at it.

Thanks both of you for the likes.

They are all great but my favourite is the Reliant coat-of-arms. I like the simplicty of the badge with the simple insignia-styled wreath, also like how the banner sits over the badge.

The swords on the others look a little unnecessary to me, maybe try placing them behind the badge in a X style.

Really liking the Excelsior one, myself. The choice of purple with the Knight and the dark tribal scrollwork on the swords are very impressive.

I have to cast another vote for Reliant. It really catches the feel of a classic coat of arms, while still being original.

Thanks. The tribal art was very tricky.

Well to be honest I don't like the swords. But as a coat of arms I thought it would be necessary. Without the swords the Enterprise art looked too passive and peaceful. The Enterprise is a force to be reckoned with at the end of the day

^^^ Was wondering about that myself. On a web browser, F5 is reload page. Could it be an allusion to "reload torpedoes", particularly with a Borg Cube in the design?
