Maurice Jarre, R.I.P.

I just saw this over at IMDB. He lived a long life, and retired from composing a few years ago, but it's still a damned shame.

RIP, Mr. Jarre.

Damn. I only recently got to hear the interlude music (the five minutes of black before "part two" of Lawrence of Arabia started).

^Yes.

Damn, he was truly one of the greats. He collaborated with director Peter Weir a lot- Witness, Mosquito Coast, Fearless, Dead Poets Society. He wrote fabulous music.
RIP.

^ So did his son. Jean Michel's one of my favorite musicians of all time. Oxygene and Equinoxe are classics of electronic music.

I don't remember Maurice's music right now but it has been awhile since I've seen some of the films.

The soundtrack to Grand Prix was such a masterpiece; I literally wore the lp down to a scratchy surface as a teenager in the early 70s. It meant so much to me and still does.

Very sorry to hear of Maurice Jarre's passing.

Magnetic Fields was one of my favorite albums in the early 80s - Jarre's electronica flowing through my Beyerdynamics was pure joy!!
