Matt Smith Reveals DW Departure Date

Isn't DOCTOR WHO considered a children's show in the UK. They have had now 2 episodes/skits with the Doctor naked, 1 with only a towel and 1 where he assumed naked (changing in front of Amy in ELEVENTH HOUR). hmmmm?

No, not for a long time. Besides, children are very smart and knowledgeable these days; they'll have all seen a bare torso before. ;)

I'd like to see Smith outlast Moffat, because I'd like to see how another showrunner would write Smith. However, I think that either Moffat will outlast Smith or they'll leave at the same time.

I suggested this in the movie thread, and I'll suggest it here, too -- I'd really like to see Emma Watson as the Doctor. She'll probably still be too young to play the 12th, but a few years further down the road and she'd be the right age for the part of the 13th.

Top part

I would like to see how Moffat handles his second Doctor in his era.

Maybe he'll finally get that Jack Sparrow type costume he was wanting Matt Smith to wear.

But considering Moffat's been with the show since 2005 I think he'll leave after Smith. 7 to 8 years being behind the scenes and in front is a good run for anyone.

Bottom part

IMO I think Emma has a bigger career ahead of her. I'd hate for her to be stuck doing BBC period drama's or some present day dramas.

I still don't think a female Doctor would be right, but once he gets a bit older, Rupert Grint could do an excellent job.

Matt Smith revealed his departure date at the preview screening of the xmas special last night according to today's Mirror.

it's 2061. he said he'll be there another 50 years.

In the first fifty years of Doctor Who there were 11 Doctors.

In the second fifty years of Doctor Who there was only one.
