News Matt Smith joins the cast of "Episode IX"

But have any of them been in James Bond? Professor Zaroff was.

Edit - Geoffrey Palmer too.

At which point Deep Roy will no longer be the only actor to appear in Doctor Who, Star Trek and Star Wars.

Tom Baker was in Star Wars Rebels, but which other actors who's played The Doctor have appeared in Star Wars? (I know of actors who've appeared in both - David Prowse (The Time Monster), Julian Glover (City Of Death) and Michael Sheard (multiple) come to mind).

John Hollis was also in Star Wars and Doctor Who.

He was Professor Sondergaard in The Mutants and Lobot in The Empire Strikes Back.

Oh, damn, I hadn't realized Deep Roy also did Blake's 7, too, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

4 times apparently, though you would have trouble recognising him sometimes. He was a Decima in The Web, he was Moloch, apparently he was one of the Links in Terminal (not 100% sure on this one) and most famously he's the Klute who Vila plays speed chess against :)

1) Oh, cool- Eleven in Star Wars
2) Oh, shit-Guy who's a fucking jinx on his movie projects in Star Wars...

If the current Star Wars series is as bad as everyone says, it could be like both of them reversing the polarity and we end up with a really good movie.

I believe he was. There are 3 videos up on youtube that are look back at the first 3 series of B7 (the guy who made them said they didn't get funding to do one for series 4).

Steven Pacey talks about how one of the actors suffered a broken collar bone after a stunt went wrong (the link was thrown by Tarrant) and iirc it was Deep Roy and he was unable to work for some time after that.

There are so many great British character actors in the old Star Wars movies, they might almost be classed as British films that were simply bankrolled by American money ;)

A good number of those actors appeared in both :D

John Hollis was also in Star Wars and Doctor Who.

He was Professor Sondergaard in The Mutants and Lobot in The Empire Strikes Back.

John Hollis again too (the bald bloke in the pre-credits of FYEO), and of course Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett, Smithers in a couple of Moore Bonds, and Hal the Archer in The Time Warrior) immediately springs to mind as hitting the DW/Bond/SW trifecta.

He was Blofeld in For Your Eyes Only, just not named due to the legal rights issues that took Blofeld and SPECTRE out of the movies for a couple of decades - he also appeared in Blake's Seven in the episode Powerplay and was the Mongo Security Agent who first detected Zarkoff's space capsule in Flash Gordon.

As to Smith's role, I suspect he'll be another First Order Officer, I just wish they gave these guys more to do, so far no-one's lived up to Admiral Piett - hell, even Ozzel was more memorable than most of these guys!
