Matt Smith joins an already talent-packed cast (and that's just the newcomers) for Episode IX.

Smith adds yet another major franchise under his belt, but hopefully this role will be a lot better than the last Terminator film (I refuse to use it's stupidly spelled title). I guess it's only a matter of time before he does Star Trek. :D

While technically he'll be the first Doctor in a Star Wars film, he's also tied as the second and third Doctor in a Star Wars film, and tied third. Hell, he's tied for third and fourth Doctor in the overall Star Wars universe (or so I've heard since I've never watched any of the shows).

At which point Deep Roy will no longer be the only actor to appear in Doctor Who, Star Trek and Star Wars.

Tom Baker was in Star Wars Rebels, but which other actors who's played The Doctor have appeared in Star Wars? (I know of actors who've appeared in both - David Prowse (The Time Monster), Julian Glover (City Of Death) and Michael Sheard (multiple) come to mind).

Peter Cushing, kinda.

I'm having a really difficult time parsing this paragraph.

Here's how I'm interpreting it -- Smith is the first Doctor actor to appear in a Star Wars film, but Peter Cushing played Doctor Who in two movies, so Cushing is really first depending on your point of view, and Richard E. Grant, who played the Doctor in an animated thing, is also in the new film, so really Smith is tied for second (or third, depending on who appears on screen first), depending on how you look at it. And Smith and Grant are tied for third (or fourth) when you factor in Tom Baker's appearance in Rebels. So, Smith is the first canonical Doctor, but he could be the second or third actor to play a Doctor to appear on screen in a Star Wars movie. That's what I think you were saying. I think. :)

Yeah, that's what I meant. I knew it was clunky as hell but I couldn't figure out how to say it clearly while keeping the facts unspecific. I guess I should've just come out and say what I meant instead of being deliberately obtuse.

Wait, Matt Smith was in that Terminator movie? I'll try not to fall asleep next time it's on the telly. Did he have more than one line?

That page reminds me of why I probbly never noticed he was in the movie, I was distracted by Emilia Clarke's chesticles.

Should've gone for an outline layout. Or maybe an org chart. ;)

Maybe he’s playing Yoda (“Space Gandalf”). ;)

Oh yeah, though if you include Blakes 7 as well Deep Roy is the undisputed champion (unless Michael Sheard secretly did Trek )
Oh, damn, I hadn't realized Deep Roy also did Blake's 7, too, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
