Math Problem

I missed your birthday. :( And you didn't invite me to the party. :(
You have a standing invitation to all parties. The one at ReNext is going on all week. Feel free to stop by for some cake or whatever. :mallory:

Happy Birthday, RJ. My mother just turned 50. :p
Er... thank you. And happy birthday to your mother. ;)

There may be snow on the roof, but there's still fire in the furnace. :mallory:

Happy Belated Birthday RJD! When I was young - like a thousand years ago - 50 seemed old. Now that I'm about 5ish years off it seems quite sprightly!

Thank you very much. It's the same for me. Of course, times have changed as well. People are living longer and healthier lives, so 50 is not as old as it used to be. :bolian:

'Tisn't old at all - as I now have to make to 107 just to get everything done - so no worries!

as tempting as the thought may be, have you also taken into account how many morons you are going to meet (or to have for congressman/president/boss) until then?

Well, once I retire I can become a hermit and much more selective about the morons I meet. :D

at the risk of sounding like a misanthrope: will there still be any intelligent people around when we're old? (present company excluded, of course!)
It seems to me that morons propagate like roaches while folks with intelligence - or at least a hint of common sense - are at the brink of extinction.

It certainly seems that way to me sometimes. I don't know what can be done about it.

I've been giving that prob some thought in the past. But I'm afraid it's as solvable as the square circle prob.
Hmm, a bad example perhaps, since every square dancer knows it's easily done in practize. It's just extremely hard to prove in theory.
