Mass Effect Legendary Edition

Yeah that stunt cast reporter..... Jessica Chobot they had time to shove her into the game but screw Tali
And it was definitely late in development since there's a reason the only characters that interact with her or even acknowledge her existence is Shepard and Traynor; the rest of the cast had already recorded all their lines.

So this ended up being a Day 1 purchase, as my wife was really excited for the release. She's loving it and already beaten the first game.

That Tali picture is a slight improvement.
Definitely agree it would have been nice to see her face in the game.
My male Shepherd actually ended up getting together with Tali entirely by accident. I just picked the responses I liked best when I talked to her in ME, and before I knew it they were together.
I actually wanted to get him together with Miranda in ME 2, but in 2 or 3 play throughs I never managed to it.
I think I did end up with Liara at least once.
The only character my female Shepherd ended up with was Thane, when I play through again I'm gonna try for Garrus.

Given the number of playthroughs I've done, I think I've managed most. Garrus is a fun one (one part of the Citadel DLC especially comes to mind)

Bought a copy of the game last week, started it this morning.

First achievement unlocked, "Distinguished Service Medal" (ME1: Complete Eden Prime). Since its been almost a week since the game's release, 100.00% of gamers have unlocked this.

And I'm not ashamed to admit I'm playing on "Casual" mode.

OK, how am I only just now noticing that not only did they change the font on the 'Mass Effect' logo, but they did it four years ago with Andromeda?
Also noticed that for MELE, rather than reproduced all three of the old logo art for the individual games, they gone with a unified design, presumably with the intent of ME5 following suit.

I tend to roll femShep most of the time, so I think I've done all of the romance options for her (yes even Jacob *shudder*.)
I've only done one or two complete trilogy maleSheps runs (it's been a while, so I forget) so I think I've only done the Ashley and Tali romances for him (I think there's another one with Jack that I never finished, but I forget.)

Weirdly, the Kaiden romance was way better in the long run than Ashley's, and I don't even like Kaiden!

Kaiden's romance was really satisfying, yeah. Miranda's ended up being a favorite of mine too.

Somehow I've never managed to do either Garrus or Tali (even did the Jacob but he tragically died :shifty: and then I finished the trilogy with Liara.) Definitely doing those two now (Garrus first).

Played through Mass Effect 1 for the first time via Legendary Edition. I had started with ME2 so it was weird when I tried to play ME1 two consoles ago so I stopped. I didn't realize how short this game was.

I usually go for Liara regardless of which gender I'm playing. The only one though I could never imagine pursuing is Kaidan. I order him to his death every time, he just doesn't interest me either in terms of story or imagining my character being attracted.

Not a big fan of Miranda either cause of her acerbic attitude. I tend to go Jack, Tali or Garrus in ME2.

Started another playthrough of Mass Effect 1 so I could get some trophies I missed and put my character in a better position for Mass Effect 2. Went with vanguard this time, and with a superpowered Tali and Liara as my squad mates, it's like playing with a cheat code.

I think I only died twice on my entire play through of ME1 Legendary. Also a Vanguard but more often going with Garrus. Wasn't even on normal but the combat just seemed... so much easier than I remember?

Early on in 2 and I'm... having to re-adjust because the difficulty jumped way up I feel like, lol.

ME2 really is when the combat gets more intense. :D

So after two weeks, I've completed my Paragon trilogy playthrough. I've only played on casual as I've played them all so many times over the years, but I can go harder whenever I come back for Renegade.

I've had so much fun. The games look amazing! I was also soon swept back up into the galaxy-spanning politics, and chasing round the ship to speak to the awesome squadmates.

The hubby used to watch me play whenever I was on. However, since Legendary Edition came out he got it himself for PlayStation and we've both been having a Mass Effect fortnight.

I'm playing ME2 on the same level I played it when I had it for PS3, and parts I remember being tough really aren't that tough anymore. I think I've just gotten smarter/better when it comes to weapon choice, squad mate choice and using the power wheel. Won't see me taking Zaeed Massani onto Horizon or the Collector ship, or anywhere besides his side mission, for that matter.

Zayeed is annoying!

I found ME2 much harder to fight in than ME3, which was a breeze up until the final battle. I don't quite remember having so much of an advantage from carrying on my profile from ME2 before. Pulling and throwing Cannibals all over the place in the very first mission was very therapeutic. Boom!

ME2 definitely has some difficulty spikes, and the combat is more challenging overall on the higher difficulty levels compared to 1&3. It wasn't until my first insanity playthrough that I started to appreciate the utility of having Miranda on the team. Seriously, her having both overload and warp makes her the one-stop shot for dealing with enemy shields and armor, and her "Cerberus Leader/Tactician" power evolution gives a significant stat boost to the whole squad!

Random things that came to mind while playing Mass Effect 2....

If Kenn needs 1000 credits to be able to leave Omega, why does he still need 1000 credits after you've bought all his extremely expensive items?

If one spaceship can mine a planet dry with six probes, how could any planet possibly still have resources for me?

:guffaw:

I tried playing Mass Effect on hard once and found most things kill you in one hit. I'm all for challenge but that just isn't fun. On normal, I have the most trouble on fights where things attack you from behind which is practically nonexistent in ME2.

I just started Mass Effect in legendary. The biggest difference I've noticed so far is with the Mako combat. I don't think they improved it much. It seems enemy bullets are faster and you have to get closer to them to hit them, and also shields disappear much faster. They did make shields regenerate faster which is nice. But they basically changed it from being slow, clunky and annoying to being faster, so the clunkiness hurts you more. They should have made it a little more agile if they were going to make you get that much closer.

Otherwise it's just the same with sharper graphics. The biggest annoyance I'm finding is that allies don't seem to take cover when under fire. But I guess that was there in the original game too.

I blew threw Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 on normal no problem, even though I never played the first game before. I think I've gotten good enough at using weapons, powers and squadmates that I know how to handle any situation. Decided to replay Mass Effect 2 with the bonuses and I upped the difficulty to veteran. It feels like there are more bad guys in some spots. They're not necessarily harder to kill, but being able to swarm you and kill you affects how I play it. Or maybe there are the same number of bad guys but because it's slightly harder to kill them I get into situations where they can swarm me. One of the rooms during Mordin's recruitment quest and one of the rooms during Kasumi's loyalty quest seemed like there were more bad guys.

IIRC Harrot was taking a ridiculously large cut of his profits. Probably charging him overheads too, so he's constantly in a state of debt.
