Hopefully, the story will take care of that by having Sam as the front and center Captain America.Yeah, just having Steve there in any form is going to completely undermine Sam's role as Captain America in the eyes of the people who have a problem with a black man taking on that role.
Thing is I don't care about what bigots think. Bigots I am sure like plenty of tv shows and movies I also like. One can go crazy worrying about whether or not some assholes is going to like a tv show or movie. I am more interested in seeing things I like in tv shows and movies. I like Chris Evans in the role so I am game for more. As long as it is done in away that doesn't undermine the ending in Endgame. That said I also like Sam Wilson as a character. I want him to be used well also. What I look forward most is seeing him as a team leader I do agree bringing Evans and Downey Jr back is a act of desperation. But that doesn't mean the movies will be bad because of it .Yeah, just having Steve there in any form is going to completely undermine Sam's role as Captain America in the eyes of the people who have a problem with a black man taking on that role.

The entire teaser seems to say Steve Rogers will return, so yeah. I'm good with him returning simply as Steve. He'll get a suit, a shield. But when someone calls him Cap, he'll say 'that's that man over there, not me'.
Ant-Man and Ms. Marvel come to mind.
I saw a video today that made the point that if you watch Endgame, Thanos destroyed Cap's shield. Yet old man Steve handed the shield off to Sam. This meant it couldn't have been the destroyed shield.
From Steve's timeline, it goes something like this:
There's really only two options. One is it's some secondary shield that was made for him, meaning he actually was acting as Captain America on the downlow even after his "happily ever after."
- He goes back in time to the 1940s
- At some point, he's given another shield.
- As an old man, he gives the shield to Sam.
The alternative is that Sam gives him back the shield at some point, which makes it a closed time loop. Maybe Sam dies and passes the shield back, and then Steve knows that he, ultimately, has to give the shield back again?
He stole it from the cap-cicle in his universe.Dr. Strange explicitly refused to kill in his first movie. I don't recall She-Hulk killing anyone, either.
Or he already had a backup shield stored away somewhere.
Or he had a backup shield made just in case but never used it, or only used it covertly and didn't paint it until Endgame (ie, he was not identifiably acting as 'Captain America'.
Or he just asked his Wakandan buddies to make Sam a brand new shield.
Sorry. Not interested. I'm just not.

I'm gonna join the list of those who aren't happy about this (rumored) Chris Evans thing, but I'm also gonna take it one step further by not only calling it a slap in the face to Anthony Mackie, but a Jump the Shark decision that further signals the decline and death of the MCU as an IP.
If they actually do put him on waterskis I'm out.
For cost reasons - no chance. This is about decline in box office.I don't think it's a sign desperation at all.
Pretty sure it was the plan the entire time to bring back Steve and variants of other characters or actors in other roles.
It's called the Multiverse Saga for a reason, It would have been weird if they hadn't brought back some familiar faces.
