Why would it be stupid?

The answer ought to be obvious.

As has become an annual tradition, I watched Werewolf by Night this evening. The special is pitch perfect and remains deliciously macabre and a beautiful callback to 50s monsters films, but with modern sentiments. I'm continuously disappointed that we haven't gotten any kind of follow-up with Elsa, Jack, and Ted, whether in another special or crossing over to any show (especially What If...?) or film. Perhaps they'll appear in Blade if it's actually produced. Perhaps that was always the intended next stop for them but the wait has unfortunately extended greatly.
Well, this is timely: Tucked away in a profile about Michael Giacchino, Deadline casually notes that his next project is directing the sequel!

"It makes money" isn't a sufficient reason.

Whether or not to use the Multiverse is up to Sony, because they're the ones in charge of making every single decision related to the Tom Holland solo Spider-Man films.

Full stop.

Wrong.

Sony are contractually obligated to consult with Marvel executives on the film (according to Forbes), and while Sony gets to make the final call according to the contract, there are also provisions for Marvel execs being involved if Sony chooses to invite them. And since this entire set-up is a two-way street, they're not going to freeze Marvel out of any involvement when Marvel wants to be involved as that would destroy the relationship. And they're not automatically going to ignore Marvel's notes no matter what, either, because relationships like this are fundamentally always built on cooperation and negotiation.

Which we already knew, of course, because we've heard about Feige being involved in these movies ever since they started making them. And we've heard about active disagreements between Sony and Marvel being negotiated before as well.

And the idea that 'it makes money' can't possibly be a motivator for Sony Pictures is literally just sticking your head in the sand. All these studios exist to make money. Full stop.

All you have to do is look at how tightly connected the other Spidey movies were to see how much Marvel is involved in them. The whole reason Sony made the Marvel deal is so the movie could be part of the MCU, and they even renewed the deal a few years ago, so after all of that would be kind of weird for them to suddenly push Marvel out of the production of the movies.
Why would it be stupid? I mean she does have the look for the character. Not like Zendaya will be involved in many more movies I would think.
Because they already have an MJ, and it would just be weird and confusing to suddenly introduce a second "MJ". There are a lot of other both red heads, and Peter Parker/Spider-Man love interests that she could be.
we will find out about all the avengers 5 stuff next year folks when it comes out
Sadie Sink's character is being introduced in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, so we'll most likely be finding out who she is there. There's a chance they might not reveal who her character is until Secret Wars, but that seems unlikely, especially since it looks like she's a pretty significant part of BND.

Yes, but will she be running up any hills?
