I don't see why I should bother resume watching these movies "anytime". Do you always say this to people whose opinions you don't share? I didn't realize we were expected to agree on everything.
What I don't do is head over to the NFL threads of the Sports subforum and announce that I find football boring, and don't see any point in paying attention to it.

The key thing here isn't that we have different opinions; it's that I'm not interested in hearing that you don't care about something I like. That's not an interesting contribution to the thread. If you'd like to assert that there are too many comic book movies these days, a thread in TV/Media would probably be the ideal place. :)

I really wish I could find the thread in another forum where a poster broke down the number of screens in the U.S. vs. the number of releases in any current year.
From my recollection, the number of screens had gone up, but the number of releases has gone down as studios shift to a direct to video/streaming model.
So, getting rid of an entire genre of movies isn't going to increase the variety of movies being released, because the studios aren't going to release them theatrically.

I don't really have a problem with someone restating a negative opinion (I do that myself). I just believe that particular opinion is incorrect

As for the WB suits not sharing my opinion on most of Gunn's films . . . pity.

The thing is..... you keep saying they should stop making these movies because you don't like them. Others do. Isn't that a bit selfish? Robbing others of something they enjoy because you dislike it?
So, the simple answer is.... Just ignore these movies. Focus on what you like, and ignore the rest. I dislike over the top slash-gore horror movies. I see no reason to say they should no longer be made. I just don't watch them. Easy solution for everyone.

I'm not a fan of the first season of DSC. Season 2 of PIC is in my eyes the absolute worst season of any Star Trek series since 1988. I don't like many of the aesthetic choices taken in the modern streaming era of the franchise.

But I'd never have called for the end of the current chapter of Trek a couple of years ago because two of the series have very checkered track records. We'd not have gotten the two animated series and SNW.

That's all Marvel needs. A little more time to simmer and cook up better content. Some fresher ideas and new takes from writers who haven't yet been in the franchise. Killing the whole media empire accomplishes nothing.

Well, that's mostly a word chose to represent the perspective of the critics. They think it's a huge mess and a case of diminishing returns with each new series and film.

I won't lie, Secret Invasion isn't very good at all and Quantumania was a huge disappointment, but overall the MCU isn't in need of a hard reboot or being terminated altogether. Just slow down a tad and take more time to work on stories.

See, I don't think they're getting worse. I've been a fan since IM1. The mcu always had problems. I thought Ant Man 1 derivative, a poor adaptation and not very funny. Quantumania was a step up. So I don't even get the whole "it's getting worse' attitude. Nothing like Moon Knight, WandaVision or Guardians 3 would even be made before Infinity war

To me it's a case-by-case basis anyways. Black Widow was good but had a really disappointing third act but that was followed by a film like Wakanda Forever which was a great tribute to Chadwick Boseman. Streaming gave us She Hulk which felt very hit or miss but then Ms. Marvel was endlessly charming and rollicking fun that didn't have one episode I didn't like. So the people who think it's getting progressively worse are wrong. The quality's been all over the map for fifteen years.

Not everything is The Dark World or the second Ant-Man movie, but then the whole catalogue isn't the first Iron Man or No Way Home.

Yes the quality is always a bit iffy. I thought Black Widow was the worst MCU film ever but I generally enjoyed She Hulk as a low stakes show not just about another typical street level vigilante.

For me the post-EG content gets an edge up because it's more diverse and varied, and makes better use of side characters the Infinity Saga ignored or underused

And I think Loki is peak Disney streaming Marvel. That show gets the most right of all post-Endgame content with the exception of No Way Home.

Loki is fantastic. It and Moon Knight are my 2 favorite D+ MCU shows. My biggest issue is the multiverse seems inconsistent

When I heard a second season of Moon Knight appears to be in the works I was happy. That show was an entertaining ride and Season 1 ended on an interesting note.

Yeah I think MK did a good job of making the mc likeable from the start. I know it's not entirely accurate and the CGI and Jewish representation was weak but I hope s2 can fix it
