In episode 5 ("Truth"), I believe Sam said the following to Bucky: "...but Steve's gone.It doesn't matter what Steve thought.". I took that as Steve not merely living his retired life somewhere (in the six months post Endgame), but he died, since both had to find their way without him.
That's certainly the simplest interpretation of the line, but it's still frustratingly vague. It sounds definitive, but it's just unclear enough to give them wiggle room for one more Old Steve appearance if they need one (and can convince Evans to do it).

Whereas, if TPTB were sure Steve was dead, and didn't mind precluding one more Old Steve cameo, Sam and Bucky could have had a more meaningful discussion about his passing than one quick line spoken in irritation.

Yeah, that definitely felt like they were being purposefully vague, just in case Chris Evans decides at some point that he's willing to come back to Old Steve again.

I think by this time he'll be way too old

His Endgame scene takes place in 2023 and he was not only still perfectly mobile and clear-headed but also strong enough to carry the shield, too.

I don't see why a further appearance in any part of this decade should be considered impossible because of his age.

I guess so. I feel Evans won't return to the role anytime soon though

That is a much bigger issue, yes.

Plus if they were able to convince him it seems more likely they'd want him fully suited up for Secret Wars rather than another old man Steve cameo.

That's a cool bit of trivia, but what's the tweet's source?

As for Old Steve, unless TPTB have the guts to officially kill him off offscreen, they're in a bit of a bind. It would seem out of character for Steve to disappear again and not at least leave them a number Sam and Bucky could call for emergencies (or even just to check in on him), but saying "he's gone" pretty much implies that he's either passed or disappeared. Of course, they could have recast and hired an age-appropriate actor to do, say, a quiet scene with Isiah (assuming Evans wouldn't do it himself), but one can imagine the fan complaints. Maybe they should have said he retired, and left it at that, and not told him about Isiah. But a scene between Old Steve and Isiah could have been really something.

Based on when WandaVision takes place

The intro to Episode 7 of WandaVision. Nov 10th, 2023 is exactly 24 days (3 weeks + 3 days) after Hulk’s Snap in Endgame, and the date that the final 3 episodes of WV occur on.

Also "Spider-man: Far From Home" will debut on November 3rd on Disney Plus

The only one left is "No Way Home"
