Nope. Maybe we'll get some short TV ad drops this week leading up to the premiere on Friday?

The theme parks have made a lot more money for the Disney company than DisneyPlus. But it seems the company is cutting costs for both. Disney has become a company solely for the benefit of its shareholders and not its customers.

Uhm.. that was always the case or rather since it became completely corporate decades ago. Just because they go out of their way to present a family friendly face to the public doesn't mean they aren't hardcore business people behind the scenes and will squeeze anybody for profit, just ask the theater chains what they think of Disney.

And to further burst your bubble - all companies work for the benefit of their shareholders, this is what's ultimately important. That's capitalism and if anyone believes any company truly cares about their customers should educate themselves on business.

Learned in college that the point of business was to maximize revenue for its shareholders, period. It wasn't until years later that I truly understood the implications of that.

Took me a while too but as a kid or teenager you see Disney stuff and think they company must be run by fun people. When you grow older and have gotten some work experience it truly opens your eyes to the reality of it all. It doesn't automatically mean that companies don't care about customer satisfaction, without it there is no revenue but what happens from concept up until customer satisfaction, all the things needed, can be pretty brutal and cold.

Same applies to the MCU, i have no illusions about that. Back in the beginning Perlmutter fired Terence Howard as Rhodey because he demanded too much salary for the sequels. Marvel has fired directors and writers who wouldn't fit their mold or threatened their family friendly facade ( most public one was Gunn). They have a very clear vision what they want to do and if you don't play by the rules or believe to be outside of them you're gone. If you're lucky you'll get a warning shot but otherwise while you're under contract they expect you to dance according to their tune.

Many mistake Hollywood to be this artistic heaven when in fact it's a hard business and those who don't follow the rules are left out in the cold. It's even harsher than any regular company, where you could sue for wrongful termination - sue a Hollywood company and you might win but you'll never work in Hollywood again.

I've long been ambivalent about Disney. I recognized in my teens that they were a rapacious corporation that prioritized promoting their brand above all else, and I've always been troubled by their increasing monopolization of the entertainment industry; but I've grudgingly had to admit that they tend to make pretty good entertainment. I wasn't a fan of their classic movies, but I started to come around about the time of DuckTales and Gargoyles, and their modern stuff like Marvel and Star Wars is consistently well-done.

I didn't have a good time, watching those films. Well . . . I was able to tolerate "Deadpool 2". But I loathe 2016's "Deadpool".
Honestly, I found the little short that was done more entertaining. The films left way more to be desired for what it was trying to do and my interest in Deadpool faded after that.

I'm sure others will find it entertaining. It is just not for me.
On behave of this forum I would like to apologize. We all forgot that because you don't like a thing, we aren't allowed to like that thing. It won't happen again.
Be sure that it doesn't.

;)
