You know, I was just thinking that if Marvel wanted a really big draw for either their streaming service or ABcC, you'd think they'd go for a Kamala Khan Ms. Marvel series. I wonder if they have plans and are just waiting until after Captain Marvel/avengers 4 come out, so that Kamala could still be inspired by Carol Danvers as part of her backstory.

She along with the X-Men, Magneto and a few others were Marvel's first "generation" of Mutants. Later she learned magic and the name became more reality than poetry. These day she's not even a mutant in the comics.
I know she's a mutant, I had just figured that she always used magic too.

Who's left?
America Chavez. Kamala Khan. Jennifer Walters / She Hulk. Riri Williams. Jessica Drew.

it was hard to come up with five names off the top of my head that weren't either related to X-Men or Spider-Man. (I don't believe Jessica Drew is part of Sony's rights. The character has never really connected to the spider-verse at all until recently.)

There was a point (starting at 23:03) during the SDCC panel for Marvel Rising where Chloe Bennet briefly hinted at some behind-the-scenes back-and-forth which may be afoot between the animated and live-action projects.

Perhaps this latest announcement is a further step in that direction?

I'm pretty sure I read not too long ago that Kevin Feig said he wants to explore Kamala Khan (either in a film or a show) but he wants to get Carol Danvers established first.

That might prove to be interesting, but I would rather Kamala be a film character than moved to any home venue.

Bob Iger confirmed that Kevin Feige will be in charge of the X-Men when they join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"I think it only makes sense," Iger said. "I want to be careful here because of what's been communicated to the Fox folks, but I think they know. It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity. There shouldn't be two Marvels."

That was followed up with a proposition of "so Deadpool could become an Avenger?"

"Kevin's got a lot of ideas," Iger said. "I'm not suggesting that's one of them. But who knows?"

Deadpool is probably the only X universe character that can be imported without issues, because he would totally 4th wall break that, make a joke and that‘s that.
The other Avenger would just be confused for a minute where that maniac with healing powers cane from and move on.

I have a hard time seeing him in a full on Avenger role and still break the 4th wall as he does in his own movies.
A team up with Spider-Man would work, though.

Deadpool would take the MCU in stride, but the MCU wouldn't take him in stride unless the adult humor was removed. I suspect he's actually the most likely suspect to remain outside the MCU precisely because his fanbase wouldn't take kindly to toning him down (even though I think Reynolds actually proved himself capable of being just as funny on a pg 13 level in some of the marketing stuff).

It would be neat if he could crossover with select compatible characters - like a pg 13 buddy comedy with spider-man for instance - and still keep his adult oriented solo series outside the MCU, but that seems unlikely.

At this point, I imagine that it is being saved for the streaming service.

ETA: Speaking of pilots that didn't get picked up, I wonder if they will release "Marvel's Most Wanted"?
Given the Feige-produced streaming programs, I wonder if they're interested in New Warriors.
I wished they had incorporated Most Wanted into a two parter of Agents of SHIELD a la Menagerie. There was a mysterious villain, iirc, and I was curious who it would be.

Just watched the trailer for her last movie, The Rider, and it's definitely not a movie that makes you expect her next movie to be a big comic book movie.
I do have to compliment Disney for being willing to take chances on directors like her for their big movies like this.

I see the Eternals getting the big screen treatment and I see Marvel doing big Motion Picture budget television shows for the streaming service, and then I think of Inhumans and get very sad.:(
