EW.com has a new article about Daredevil: Born Again, which reveals a bit more about how the show changed after the writers strike.

Apparently, it was originally going to be more of legal procedural, but Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio pushed to bring it more in line with the original series. They said that it actually gets more intense at times than the original, and that it was a challenge to find scenes that were appropriate for the 2025 sizzle reel that was released a little while ago.
I wonder if we'll ever find out what the original plans were for the fourth season, aside from involving the Defenders and being characterized by Cox as a "really cool arc" for him.

I guess it depends if we ever get the Defenders again.

...speaking of which: Krysten Ritter wants to return as Jessica Jones. Make it happen already, Kevin! :scream:

Yeah, I would definitely be up for more Jessica Jones. Are there going to be any more seasons of Krysten Ritter's Orphan Black series?

Oh, that reminds me...I still haven't watched the finale for that show. Goes to show how impressed (read: disappointed) I was by it. Pretty sure I heard it was cancelled awhile ago hence why I wasn't in a rush to get to that last episode.

They need to make another go with a Defenders series with Daredevil,Jessica Jones,Luke Cage,The Punisher, and Collen Wing as the new Iron Fist. and maybe Kate Bishop and Ms Marvel.

The Avengers never worked under Fury, not even from the beginning.

Stark: "WE ARE NOT SOLDIERS! I'm not marching to Fury's fife."

Rogers: "Neither am I! He's got the same blood on his hands as Loki does. Right now, we've got to put that aside and get this done."

We then see Rogers gathering up Romanov and Barton and commandeering a quinjet without authorization...

Rogers: "Son, just don't."

After that, we see Fury and Hill reacting in surprise to the team leaving the helicarrier, realizing that they must have located Loki and got off on their own to stop him.

In fact, the only time Fury was in contact with any of the Avengers during that entire battle was when he informed Stark that there was a nuclear missile inbound.

And I'm not so sure that Age of Ultron was the first time that they assembled after the first movie. At the end of the first movie, we saw Tony redesigning his whole tower to be an Avengers headquarters, so it stands to reason that they were a going concern for the 3 years in between movies.

Didn't they refer to them having been going on other missions between Age of Ultron and Avengers?

AoU was not their first mission after New York, but they referred to their reunion as being for the specific purpose of getting Loki's sceptre back from Hydra so those missions started after TWS.

I think the actress may have IGed a picture of herself working out, possibly with a JJ reference, and everyone’s imaginations and/or hopes did the rest.
There was another Instagram post of her and Mike Colter where they both expressed interest in returning.

As  Turtletrekker noted, nothing has been confirmed and it's been pure fan wishful thinking.

I hope they call it something else. I would really love to see the Defenders in the MCU. Hulk, Namor, and Dr. Strange. It can even be billed as Dr. Strange and the Defenders for all I care. There's others they can use that have already appeared in the MCU: Luke Cage and Hellcat (add Jessica) from the Netflix series, and Valkyrie for example.

The Gerber/Buscema run is one of my favorites.

Isn't the appeal of a Defenders story though being about focusing on street level heroes instead of ones with big time powers? I mean some would have some powers but Hulk and Dr Strange seem overpowered for such a show.

The comics Defenders included both Dr. Strange and Hulk, as well as Namor, Silver Surfer, and Valkyrie. The street level shtick only happened because Netflix wasn't making any shows about more powerful heroes. Technically it would've been more appropriate for that show to be named Marvel Knights or Heroes for Hire, but I guess Defenders sounded better.
