Not enough aliens.

Too much emphasis on real world politic.

No droids, or limited droids.

Too grim and gritty and less fanciful.

Slow moving and less action, with a lot of talking and speeches.

In other words, they looked at the show whose entire goal was to offer something other than the same old stuff and complained because they wanted more of the same old stuff.

Yup.

The droid thing was the most interesting to me. It's like, that's not the only thing that makes Star Wars.

I thought I saw this news posted here already but I guess not:

The legendary John Romita Sr. has died.

If there's a Mount Rushmore of comic creators, Romita is among those represented. Unparalleled work as artist, art director, writer and was a force in Marvel's licensing boom in the 1970s. Obviously, he's responsible (with Lee) for the transformational work to make the definitive Spider-Man that hard set the tone for the character in print, animation and live action for decades.

I had the pleasure of meeting him on a couple of occasions, and you would be hard pressed to find a nicer, more thoughtful talent of his immeasurable level. He was one of my lifelong favorite comic creators, one who will be missed. On to the next stage, JR.

It did seem a little weird that there wasn't a single droid at the Aldhani base. And I think I saw maybe one camera droid in all the Senate scenes combined.

It was a remote outpost utilizing conscripts and draftees. Doesn't bother me at all, any more than the troopers in the pre-Special Edition detachment hunting for R2 and 3PO didn't use droids.

It's not a requirement all the time.

The Marvel Studios Legends episodes for Secret Invasion are up. There are episodes for fury, Hill. Talos and the skrulls, Everett Ross and James Rhodes.

As with the Legends episode for Bruce Banner, which only included footage of Mark Ruffalo, there is no Terrance Howard footage in the Rhodey episode, but does include a small amount of footage from the first movie and the "it's me, I'm here, let's move on" lampshade that they put on Don Cheadle's first appearance in Iron Man 2. Also, a little bit of dialogue but no footage from Falcon and Winter Soldier.

Damn, that's disappointing.
Apparently the complaints are that not enough is explained...in the first 2 episodes.

Really, the Binge Model has spoiled people rotten.
That's a weird complaint, a lot of shows take their time to start to explain things, especially these kind of conspiracy thrillers, which is the tone Secret Invasion seems to be going for.

Andor was awesome. It took Star Wars to the next level. If Secret Invasion is half as good, it'll be great.
Yeah, honestly I wish they'd taken this approach with the Falcon & Winter Soldier show. That felt like it wanted to be what 'Andor' ended up being, but was way too timid. I mean come on, it's big inspirational speech against overbearing authority and privilege at the end was just "do better!"
So if 'Secret Invasion' is taking harder swings, then I'm all for it!

Oh but when a real life person says it, it's fine?
