Wow, I didn't realize it was that detailed. I've been out of the loop with action figures since the mid-1980s.
Figures have come a long way, even for more basic lines like the Black Adam line, which are considered lower end. The sculpting process has gotten more refined, the face likeness has gotten better details. A lot of collectors prefer Star Wars The Vintage Collection in 3.75 because it's more "collector friendly" due to the detail work. The Black Series in 6 inch is becoming quite detailed and photo real as well.

TFA toyline was confusing all around... Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, but from ESB....no Han or Leia figures either initially to usher in their return to the franchise.
That whole merchandising was a mess, and annoyingly so. TLJ was worse and TROS had almost nothing.

And the second wave of TFA line figures had Kanan, Ezra and the Inquisitor from Rebels. We didn't even get Han Solo in his updated look until Wave 3 and that wave was a lot harder to find in stores when it first came out.

Its going to be weird to loathe a Guardians soundtrack. I hope GotG 3 keeps up the classic music and doesn't go this route. I'd still like GotG with no licensed music at all, but it was nice to have some movies use licensed music that I generally have heard before (with a few exceptions) and also generally enjoy, instead of the modern stuff that I usually hate in most movies.

Why didn't Markus and McFeeley allowed Peter Quill to react to being back on Earth after 35 years in "Endgame"? Instead, he got caught up in the Zamora drama and immediately left Earth with his friends and Thor.

I imagine this one is probably more modern precisely because it takes place on Earth. They're hearing what Star Lord has missed growing up in space. That doesn't mean they won't go back to more classic stuff for Vol. IIi, though.
That makes sense, and judging by the state of Drax and Mantis in the picture and trailer may reflect the tone

We don't know how much time passed between the death of Tony Stark and his funeral. (A month passed between my father's death and his funeral.) Peter and co. could have been on Earth for a few weeks while funeral arrangements were being made. That might be enough time to get caught up on current events.

Gunn said a few years ago that Peter hated earth

Peter despised being back on earth and got off that planet as fast as he freaking could. He associates it completely with his mother dying.

Given that the last one was by far the worst MCU film, and one of the worst films I've ever seen of any sort, he's not wrong.

To each their own. I liked Love and Thunder better than Ragnarok. Ragnarok didn't land for me emotionally, because it seemed to handle the intense emotional and tragic moments cursorily and without weight, as if eager to rush through them and get to the next bit of quirky humor. So it was a harmless, mildly diverting bit of fluff, which is hardly what you want from a movie named after the Norse apocalypse and featuring the slaughter of most of the main character's loved ones and his entire civilization. In Love and Thunder, the emotional moments felt more genuine and substantial to me. The movie actually seemed to care about them this time, so I cared more about them too.

Whereas I found the first two Thor films rather bland and essentially decent (aside from my love for Jane and Darcy), while loving every moment of both Ragnarok and Love and Thunder.

I know I'm in the minority on that point, but that's okay. Either way, I agree with Hemsworth's take on the franchise.

I would even be fine if Love and Thunder turns out to be his final hurrah since I felt it did a good job of closing out his story out as it is. Sure, I would love to see the adventures of him and his adoptive daughter (as played by his real-life daughter), but I'd also love to see Beta Ray Bill or the return of Jane to take the mantle.

Yeah, Ragnarok is still my favorite Thor film and Love and Thunder is such glorious, ridiculous fun that it's probably #2 for me.

Peter could have gone back to Earth anytime he wanted, he chose not to because he never wanted to. His life is in space.

Is that how they're going to explain the lack of Quill/Pratt in the Christmas special? I figured Pratt's so busy he'll probably be in the beginning and then Drax and Mantis fly off to earth to secretly find Kevin Bacon.

So it will primarily be just Drax and Mantis on earth
