It was one of the previous ten that was nominated...and lost to The Jungle Book.
Jungle Book was also impressive, so can't be too upset by that.It was one of the previous ten that was nominated...and lost to The Jungle Book.
Inception already won that Oscar. One MCU movie that I feel deserved either a cinematography or effects Oscar is Doctor Strange. Their magic reality bending battles were far more creative than standard MCU fare.

I kid, I kid...
Movies considered good always get an advantage. A few of the Bayformers movies didn't get noms even though they were the best examples of CG characters in era backgrounds that existed at the time. How the heck did No Way Home get a Visual FX Nom, but Eternals didn't?
Because: box office returns!?How the heck did No Way Home get a Visual FX Nom, but Eternals didn't?

You're expecting logic or consistency from award nominations?Tell that to West Side Story.
At this point I'd take being entertaining awards shows.
I still feel bad for Beatty, because people still blame him even though he did nothing wrong. He didn't say the wrong name, it looked like he was given the wrong envelope and tried to show it to Faye Dunaway, who just blurted out La La Land (out of what looked like exasperation) because it was the backup envelope for Emma Stone winning Best Actress for that movie. It says a lot when the best moment in the Oscars in the past ten years was Warren Beatty getting the name of a winner wrong.
A lot of the sets were physical, so maybe they focused on that category instead (although they didn't win)? How the heck did No Way Home get a Visual FX Nom, but Eternals didn't?
It looks like the Marvel series are officially leaving Netflix:
You don't think they'd be bowdlerized?Surprised it took this long. I hope they move to Disney+.
