Bozeman's loss is shocking and sad. Of course he had a career well beyond Marvel, and would surely have continued to do so. But it's a major blow to the MCU to lose BP, who was to be one of the linchpin characters of the post-Endgame universe.

Let Shuri take the mantle.

That was my thought too. It did happen in the comics for a time, I believe. Alternatively, either Danai Gurira or Lupita Nyong'o would be a good successor, if it could be justified in-story. (If Nakia married T'Challa between movies, would that put her in the line of succession?)

I am sure knowing how important Wakanda even as fictional was and is to Black people and how the film ended the myth that white people won't go watch an all black cast movie that Chadwick would want Wakanda to keep going. Not going to offer plot ideas or anything at this time out of respect.

While all this comes as a shock to all of us, I feel that Marvel executives must have known that this was coming. And given that Black Panther 2 has long been in pre-production mode, I have to believe that Marvel already has a plan for the franchise in the post Boseman world. But, that's a conversation for another time.

Given how the man persevered throughout what must have been the most awful of times, it wouldn't surprise me if he has been involved in any such plan. We may not even have seen quite the last of him.

Let's wait and see.

I suspect that this will, at a minimum, substantially delay Black Panther II. Frankly, I felt that Marvel's current 2022 release schedule was too overstuffed as is and I figured that something would have to move. It's a shame that it had to happen this way but sometimes things force your hand. My current prediction is (barring any further Coronavirus delays, of course) that Captain Marvel II will be moved up into Black Panther II's May release date, with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness getting pushed back to November 2022.

Evidently he was to have provided his voice to at least one episode of What If...? I’d be curious to know if they got his lines recorded. One of the stories was supposedly to be “What if T’Challa became Star-Lord?”

If he did get his lines recorded, that would be his final appearance as the character albeit not the one from Earth-199999.

I wondered if he had completed that recording already. Good to know we have more outing of T'Challa to look forward to.

It's pretty impressive that he was actually able to keep it so quiet in this era.

I wondered if that might be the case, after seeing this comment on Facebook the other day.

Damn...... For me, it felt that him keeping it quiet was because he didn't want to be identified as his illness. Just as a hardworking actor. Now I'm looking at it like that post and thinking....That's a good point. And it's pretty sad he might have felt like that.

Daring to change the subject (though that facebook comment is indeed an extremely valid point):

Now that Mandalorian Season 2 is scheduled for October 30, we can look at a calendar and figure that the final episode of season 2 should air on December 18. We can also assume that Disney isn't going to have any sort of high-profile debut on December 25, so we probably are indeed looking at 2021 for the MCU shows on D+.
