Or, cultures change after a 100 years, give or take a decade.TNG "A Matter of Honour"
She let herself be captured like a frightened tik'kah cat, a mindless t'gla.
GARAK: How long have you been here?
MARTOK: Two years.
GARAK: Aren't you Klingons supposed to kill yourselves when you're taken prisoner?
WORF: Not when there are still enemies to fight.
MARTOK: Or hope of escape.
And of course in the next movie, Saavik is taken prisoner by...wait for it...Klingons.Worf is just a blowhard when it comes to describing his species. But seems like most blanket statements made about Klingons aren't usually accurate.
____
Kirk "Prayer Saavik, Klingons don't take prisoners."
Saavik, "I see, sir. But didn't they have an entire prison ship once. Come to think of it, don't they have en entire prison world. Now that I think of it, didn't they imprison Spock on Organia?"
Kirk, "You fail the test! And your hair.. isn't.. regulation.."
Spock, "Trainees, to the briefing room."
A thing about Worf is that he really knows very little of Klingons that is truly accurate rather than his own idealization of them. That's why they disappoint him so often. He is an outsider to their culture looking in. Raised by humans, you know.
La Forge: "Worf is this your idea of sex?"
Worf: "This IS sex!"
La Forge: "I've never had sex. I'll take your word for it."
Worf: "Good, because this is so totally sex."
Riker: (facepalm)
Sounds like a conversation from the lunch room at your average Star Trek convention.La Forge: "Worf is this your idea of sex?"
Worf: "This IS sex!"
La Forge: "I've never had sex. I'll take your word for it."
Worf: "Good, because this is so totally sex."
Riker: (facepalm)
She activated his genes alright.I assumed she's on the ship to activate Ash's sleeper genes or something.
GI'RAL: Tokath. Long ago, when your captives asked to stay here, our hope was to avoid dishonouring our children on the Home World. But perhaps, over the years, we lost sight of our children that we raised here. This is our prison. It should not be theirs.
Birthright pt 2
P'takh human excuses. A warrior fights to the death!

Except when they don't
And of course in the next scene Kang and his crew are taken prisoner. It probably is the first time I've ever seen a Klingon just voluntarily surrender/defect to the enemy without even putting up a fight about it
TOS "The Day of the Dove"
CHEKOV: Captain, you can't. Don't let these animals have the ship.
MCCOY: Move aside. (he tends to Chekov)
KANG: Animals? Your captain crawls like one. A Klingon would never have surrendered. Order everybody in this area to be transported up. All weapons on him.
I'm sure there's some grand scheme like she cares more about getting revenge against other Klingon houses.
